This one has the things that do not fit in with my usual writing. On my other account I indulge in many more fandoms. If you are strange enough to enjoy this, then PM for my other account. When I ship HP het, I usually ship: Trio fic: Ron/Harry/Hermione Harry/Hermione Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny- but only if there is a subplot involving those couples attraction to someone other than their spouse. When I like HP slash I like: Draco/Harry. Auror!fic is my favourite. Do recc some to me if you know the good stuff AlbusSeverus/ Scorpius: Such a wonderfully blank canvas to depict characters upon James/Severus: Because if it is written well it is beautiful A lot of my stuff involves no pairings (gen) Things I cannot stand in Harry Potter fanfiction. Literally they make me want to scream no matter how good the fic. Calling Hermione- Mione. It doesn't fit her character. She's quite formal as a person, Mione is too cosy. Badly written smut involving Parseltongue. Unless you write exquisitly it's unlikely you can pull this off. In that vein, throbbing members are also out. Remus calling Harry Cub. Remus isn't even Harry's godfather, Harry is not a wolf, their relationship is based on a few months knowing each other, when Harry didn't even know of Remus's friendship with his parents. Sure Remus cares for him, but anything as blatantly sappy as Cub makes me want to extract my own teeth. Fucking with the character's basic personal beliefs and ways of life. AU fic is great. I love the stuff, but motivation is needed. You can't simply make Hermione a fool obsessed with boys, Draco a brave all conquering hero (unless there is a cause) or Ginny an absolute bitch simply because you think Harry and Hermione should be together. |
