Author has written 4 stories for Merlin. Hello, everyone! Well, I finally decided to do it, and it is entirely my sister's fault. She's the one who got me hooked on this website, and after weeks of reading through some of the wonderful stories on here, my brain will no longer allow me to not participate. So, I am now doing some writing of my own. A Bit About Me: I graduated from college in May of 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. I love, love, love, to read and write, and usually when I have a couple hours to spare in my free time, you'll find me writing my stories. As you may be able to tell from my profile picture, I love piano, as well. But although I know how to play it, I wouldn't say I'm very good at it. I haven't actually sat down to seriously attempt to play it in years, mostly because my little sister puts me to shame. I much prefer to just listen to her play instead. My Promise to You: I will not abandon my stories. If I have posted something, then it is because I already have a pretty good idea of where I want to go with that story. Nothing is more frustrating to me on this site than when you start to read an amazing story only to realize after awhile that it hasn't been updated in years. So therefore, I want to assure you, I will not just leave something unfinished. I wish that I could also promise regular updates, but unfortunately, life is too unpredictable, so all I can say is that I will update whenever I can. What to Expect in My Stories: I don't do slash or romance. It always seems to just get in the way of what is otherwise a perfectly good story. I instead like to focus on friendships, which I find to be far more interesting than romantic relationships. You can do so much more with friendship. Romance ruins everything. (okay, so that might be a bit dramatic but still...any romance from me will be strictly in the background, and only between canon pairings). I do enjoy putting characters in very difficult situations. Whump, anyone? It allows certain characters to show just how much they care about other characters, when normally, they refuse to do that. *cough* Arthur. *cough* For now, at least, I am going to focus on the Merlin fandom. I am absolutely in love with the characters and show, and I am still sad that it's over. So this is my own form of "Merlin therapy", as my sister and I like to call it. A way to keep the fandom alive. Random Facts About Me I am left-handed. And I seriously need to get one of those left-handed can openers, or better yet, an electric one, because the one I have now is really starting to frustrate me. That goes for scissors as well. I love playing Minesweeper and Solitaire. Usually, the very first thing I do when I get on the computer is play a few rounds of one or the other. My record for Minesweeper on Expert level is 81 seconds, but I haven't gotten anywhere near there in quite some time. I'm currently averaging between about 100 and 110 seconds. About a year ago, I got really bored one day and decided to teach myself Morse Code. Unfortunately, I seem to have developed this habit where as I'm listening to someone speak, or I'm reading something, I'll start to tap out the words against my leg in Morse Code, or else tap it out with my foot against the ground. It gets kind of annoying sometimes, but I can't seem to stop myself. I guess I've sort of been creating fanfiction ever since I was a little kid. I just never wrote any of it down. I just remember being very, very young (like 3) and whenever I would watch a movie or a t.v. show, I would always take those characters and create my own story, and I would lay in bed at night and think about it until I fell asleep. Not much has changed over the years, although I'm pretty sure my storylines have improved. :)Story Update (March 29, 2015): Updates for both "Alone" and "To Be Your Servant" will be resuming within the next couple of months. I never planned to take such a long hiatus with either story, but my life suddenly got really busy, and then all of my attention was taken up by another writing project that had nothing to do with fanfiction at all. But I now find myself in a position where I will be going off to attend law school in August, and I really, really, really don't want to leave any of my writing projects unfinished at that point, because then I might never get them done. Therefore, I have set up a tentative timeline for when I would like to resume updates for my Merlin fics: Alone: May, 2015 To Be Your Servant: June, 2015 Thank you all for your support and patience. I am really looking forward to getting back into my Merlin stories. I really have missed them. "We read to know that we are not alone." -William Nicholson |
