Holy crap guys, it feels weird but homey being back here. Adulting had hit me hard and life came down rough, which more or less took me away from writing. BUT I'm back and stronger than ever. I've started a few Warcraft stories up that I've been having fun putting around with, but I do plan to come full circle and get into a nice update schedule to finish "Ripples". For real, I need to hire someone to basically flood my inbox with nagging messages, poking me to turn off youtube and reddit and whatever else and just hunker down to write. Oy vey.

I like reading stories in pretty much any realm that catches my interest. I most enjoy writing (as well as reading) stories about father/son relationships because I believe that paternal bonds are important (my psychology degree coming out).

I have never written a Star Wars fanfic and most likely never will due to the intensity of the Universe. While I do enjoy reading them, I don't think I have the manhours to devote to that. For that reason, I give high honors to those authors whom do successfully write in that universe. I have, however, taken a huge initiative and have begun a story in the Warcraft universe.

~~STORIES~~

One of my latest stories, "Ripples", was something I tossed around in my head for a bit. Now that it's been a few years and I'm returning to the fandom and story, I've got a few plans in mind for it. I'm a huge historical fiction buff, and this story has given me a wonderful outlet to scratch that itch. And, of course, there's some fantastic father-son bonding moments in it. Just please be patient with me in updating it - I promise you (pink promise, even?) I am determined to see this work through!

My favorite story, "Treason", is in the Warcraft universe. As an avid World of Warcraft player, I find the realm to be very interesting and broad. The vast amount of characters, relationships, and history really opens up a door to many different avenues. For this story, I've done ten fold more research than I've ever done. The lore is so deep and extensive that I want to be sure I'm following it as accurately as possible. As with my other stories, it really draws on paternal bonds; but in a different way. It has significantly more action than my others. I personally believe it's my best written story thus far.

My story, "Idiopathic", is going to be very emotional and science based. I'm a big science buff and this story will really show it. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to scientific based stories and feel that a writer should be well versed in the background of that science. This story, like my other two, has a large overtone of the father/son relationship between James and Fox. It includes Vixxy a bit more and Fox's group of friends as well. Overall, I'm really excited for the story but I know it'll take quite a while for it to be completed.

My main story, "The Past Story", is finally completed. After four years, I'm ecstatic to say it's finally finished. I'm very satisfied with the ending and how I wrapped it up. It's amazing (and embarrassing) to reread the story and observe the difference in my writing skills. Someday, I hope to go through the first five or six chapters of the story and rewrite them. I know now, after maturing and taking three years of college English, I could greatly improve the earlier chapters of that story.

My one-shot, "An Equal Match", is a one shot and a pretty good read. It was probably my most enjoyable piece to write due to the nature of the story. My favorite character to write is definitely James and it's very apparent why in this story. Like I mentioned, I love the father/son relationship and this story is really devoted to that. It's kind of a funny read too, mostly because of how James acts as a father.

"Mother's Touch" is decent. I'm a big critic of myself and this story is one that I would really like to devout time to clean up. It definitely needs it. I wrote it many many years ago, back in high school, and I would love to incorporate my new found knowledge of psychology in the story, as it revolves around that. It has been put on my "things to do list", which unfortunately has seemed to grow in length. I'm hoping within the next year or two to really break the story down and revise it. However, I must admit that I've put it on the side to start my newest story.

Just a tad bit more about me, for which you may wish to know if you received a critical review. Fanfiction is a hobby, true, it is not a profession by any means. We are all, or rather mostly, amateur writers simply doing this for enjoyment or whatever the reason being. Perfection is not assumed but rather preferred. When I speak of perfection, I refer to more than the basics; spelling, crammer, dialogues, etc. I refer to the plot, the character development, the background story, the character interactions, the relationships, and so on. The basics are rightfully assumed when you publish work, rather it be professional or amateur. If you don't have time to reread your work, request a beta to do so. The occasional mistake here and there are of course expected (we are human) but when the same mistake is repeatedly made, I begin to not only question the story but the author who wrote it.

A story is supposed to be a journey for the readers. When I read a piece, I not only look for plot development and the "basics" but character development. This is particularly a large irk of mine if the story revolves around an emotional or traumatic event for the character(s). As a psychology degree holder with an emphasis on behavioral neuropsychology, I am fully aware of the impacts that emotional trauma has on a person. While it may effect one person different from the other, it will nonetheless leave a mark on the psyche. If I am to read a story that fails to show the development of a character in a traumatic ordeal, I will leave a negative review. Most likely than not, I will also reference several scholarly sites to better verse the author with the human mind. A reader should be able to look at the characters in the beginning of the story and differentiate them from the characters at the end of the story. Thus, character development.

Another large reason I may leave a critical review is if there was "bad science". Now, I understand it's fanfiction; this is fully for enjoyment. However, if I feel you completely failed to familiarize yourself with background literature before dwelving into the story, I will leave a critical review. I understand this is not professional journalism by any means, but all it takes is a quick search on the scientific topic you wrote of. If you claim to know nothing of it in the beginning of the story then in my review I will offer sites or books that could further help you understand it. My criticism in this aspect is not to hurt or discourage you; nay, it's quite the opposite. I wish to aid you to better know the material.

If you would like to talk, just send me a PM. I love hearing from others and bouncing ideas off each other!

Cheers! =.=
