Author has written 2 stories for Legend of Zelda, and Dragon Ball Z. Strong female characters and bisexuality are prominent themes in my writing. I am especially interested in adding interesting characters to video game fanfiction. My fanfiction writing is guided by a few goals. 1. Fanfiction should bring a new reader experience to existing lore. Fanfiction should be more than simply a rehash of the same stuff. It should bring something new to the story. Maybe you take the fictional world in a grittier direction. Maybe you explore some of the unexplained mysteries of the story. Maybe you take a simpler world and give it more depth. The point is that you are adding something substantial. 2. Fanfiction should be a complete story, not fragments of a story. Yes, it can be interesting to explore what happens behind the scenes between Chapter 5 and Chapter 6, but those stories should still be treated as complete stories with beginnings and endings. 3. Fanfiction should be worthy of inspiring other fanfiction of its own. Think about the original stories that you enjoy searching out fanfiction for. Why do you do this? Because these stories fill you with wonder and inspire your imagination. What if the story had ended this way? What if these two characters became lovers? What happened after the words "The End"? Fanfiction should inspire the same sort of wonder and imagination. |
