![]() Author has written 14 stories for Harry Potter. 8/19/07 : I've decided my currently “active” stories need to go on hiatus. (I know what you're thinking. What do you call five months without any updates? I call it my dithering.) Firstly, this fall I'm taking the hardest classes I've ever had, and they consume ALL of my time. I'm not exaggerating here. This weekend I spent hours doing readings, and you can't even imagine what weekdays are like. Sorry, I don't mean to whine, but I want to make the point that I have very little time left to even have a life, let alone work on fics. Secondly, I don't like fanfiction as much as I used to anymore. It's bothering me now that I'm using another author's ideas as the basis for writing stories, which may seem like a silly thing to worry about, but I do. I'm starting to think I'm getting bogged down by it, and I think I need to let myself grow more as a writer through my own fiction. Now, specifically: WiF – In light of the last book, I've realized I left plotholes that are almost irredeemable. That fact discourages me a lot from continuing it, even though I love the characters and what I had planned ahead so much. Autumns – It's barely begun and I already have to put it aside! Well, it's very well planned (much more so than WiF), so it is possible that I might dabble with it in the future. The same can be said about WiF, though. But understand that I'll only write for the fics if I'm in need of a writing practice; my own fiction will be having first priority, that is if I ever manage to even scrounge around for enough time to write for pleasure. 10.15.06 : FORMERLY known as snafuedKing, or King, I've changed my pen name to Elagabalus simply because I was tired of the old one. Elagabalus, by the way, was an incredibly fascinating Roman emperor. Google him. It'll be worth your while. ; ) As far as who I am - I'm an underachieving 'smart' person, with delusions of grandeur. I have a running obsession with teeth and bunnies at the moment. Art is good. Alive = Kris Lewis, Seonna Hong, and Kukula (I'm loving the whole Pop Surrealism thing going on now). Dead = Aubrey Beardsley, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, and pretty much all the Surrealists. Music = Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Bjork, My Brightest Diamond, Malajube, The Dresden Dolls, Diana Krall, Bright Eyes, and all the losers who put together bands that play nothing but songs about Harry Potter (they're too cool for school, shiznits.) I've been known to be called 'God.' Honest. Various quotes I love... "We give death to a child when we give it a doll..." Djuna Barnes, Nightwood. "At the age of three, my very photogenic mother died in a freak accident (picnic, lightning)..." Vladimir Nabokov, Lolita. moretocome...? |
