![]() Author has written 189 stories for Misc. Plays/Musicals, Newsies, RENT, NCIS, and Harry Potter. General Disclaimer: Most of the characters represented in my stories do not belong to me. They belong to either Disney, CBS, Jonathan Larson, or T.S. Eliot. There are some original character featured in some stories who do belong to me. I won't list them all out, but if they haven't appeared in Newsies, NCIS, Rent, or Cats, chances are they belong to me. Winner of Write the Wrong 2 (http://www.fanfiction.ws/forum/Write_the_Wrong/49728/) I also highly recommend the NFA Community for all of you NCIS fans (http://). It's a fanfiction site as well as a gathering place for fans to discuss characters, episodes, seasons, and other things and it's a great way to connect with other fans! I kind of hate profiles/bios. I never quite know what to say. I guess I should start by introducing myself: Hello, my name is Colleen and I am a fanfiction writer. I have been writing since 2003 or so. I began with Newsies and most of that has been slash. I might not write so much slash if those darn newsboys didn't make it so easy! Seriously, the slashiness in that film practically writes itself. So much singing and dancing and groping. Since 2008, I have also been writing fanfiction for NCIS (Naval Criminal Investigative Service for those of you who don't know). Timothy McGee is my character of choice (though I do like all of them). Aside from the two aforementioned fandoms, I'm a huge fan of musical theater. I am especially a fan of Stephen Sondheim and you will likely see him pop up in my fics here and there. You will almost always get a musical theater reference in my fics (minus, of course, Newsies fics that take place in 1899). People who recognize these references (especially the really obscure ones) win! They don't win anything in particular, but they do win a place in my heart and major points with me. I will tell you right now that the older my fic is, the worse it probably is. You can certainly see an improvement in my writing as the stories go on. At least I think you can. At one point I considered deleting a couple of my old stories because I was ashamned of them, but then I realized that it's important to see where you started and how you've improved. After all, no one is fantastic when they begin something. Yes, sometimes I cringe re-reading them (sometimes they aren't as bad as I remember them), but really the bad stuff is part of how I've gotten to the point in my writing where I am currently. That's not say I'm a fantastic writer now, but I'm better. I am a big believer of constructive criticism. I take it and I give it. So if I ever leave you a comment in which I make a suggestion or leave concrit, please don't think I'm doing it to be mean. If I didn't care I wouldn't leave anything at all. The only exception to this rule is plagiarists. If you plagiarize, I will call you out on it and I will not be nice so don't do it! One thing I do not like in fanfiction is holding your fic hostage for more reviews. This means saying "I refuse to post the next chapter until I get :insert number: reviews!" I find this to be extremely childish and if I see a person do it I will certainly not review their story. Yes, it's frustrating to not get reviews when you've worked so hard on something, but you shouldn't be writing for reviews; you should be writing because you enjoy writing! I would love to get 500 reviews for each chapter I post (or even two or three), but I'm not going to withold from writing if I don't. That would just make me look like a petulant child, holding her breath until she gets her way. So please, just say no to review whoring. Stop Plagiarism!: Recently I found that someone had taken one of my stories and reposted it as their own. Now I am not going to name names, but I want anyone reading this to know that you gain nothing by plagiarizing! In the long run, you will alienate yourself from the fandom and earn a bad reputation. Please do not plagiarize! If you find yourself or someone else the victim of plagiarism, go here (http:///stop_plagiarism/) and report it. These people will help you :) So now please enjoy my work and the work of those on my Faves List. |
