Hello. I'm an "old" guy, father of a teenage son who got me into anime and manga. After a lifetime away from cartoons and comic books, which I loved with a passion when I was a kid...I'm back.

I'm a professional writer who just completed my third novel. The second and third, which I finished or completely wrote in Fall 2014, are currently being shopped out to agents and publishers, but both will soon be up in the Amazon bookstore both online and by print-on-demand, professionally laid out and shiny.

I'm also a recovering but reputable scholar of modern and contemporary literature, especially by James Joyce.

I've watched very little but anime in the past five years.

My favorite anime TV shows:

Serial Experiments Lain, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Revolutionary Girl Utena (more "respect" than "like"), Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, FLCL, Gurren Lagan, Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt, Kill la Kill, the Monogatari series and OVAs (although I hate that perverted little bastard Araragi, the women are goddess-like), Lovely Complex, Kimi ni Todoke, Chihayafuru, Paranoia Agent, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzamiya, NANA, both seasons of Higarashi, Future Diary, Eden of the East, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Black Lagoon, Another, Kyouka, D-Frag, Shokugan no Shana, Is This A Zombie?, Fate: Zero, Ga Rei Zero, and the very great but now little-seen Maria Watches Over Us.

If someone can explain the weird "Lesbian Bears" series on right now (Spring 2015), please do. For me, it's the weirdest thing in the history of the world, and I am a scholar of Finnegans wake.

Anime movies:

Ghost in the Shell, The End of Evangelion (I hate it and would punch out Hideaki Anno given a chance, but it's great), The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzamiya, every film by the late master Satoshi Kon, for whom I still grieve (Perfect Blue, Millenium Actress, Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika), Princess Monoake, Evangelion Rebuild 2.2, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Revolutionary Girl Utena: Adolescence (yuri weirdness of great brilliance), Roberta's Blood Trail (Black Lagoon OVA series), Rebellion Story: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and others that will hit me later.

Manga: Chihayafuru, Isshuukan Friends, Your Lie in April, Neon Genesis Evangelion (the greatest manga series in the history of the universe), Another, D-Frag, Lovely Complex, Kimi ni Todoke, Daytime Shooting Star, Fujimura's Mates (great comedy plus growing yandere terror), Ao Haru Ride (love it hate it love it hate it), NANA, KissxSis (yes, it's ecchi just a millimeter from hentai, but it's freaking hilarious and secretly a touching romantic comedy and a classic sex farce), and quite a few others.
