Author has written 13 stories for Frozen, Harry Potter, Legend of Zelda, Princess Mononoke, Tangled, Avatar: Last Airbender, Gravity Falls, Bartimaeus Trilogy, Destiny, Bleach, and Journey to the West/西遊記. I guess it's time to put something here. Something writerly, intelligent, and hopefully grammatically correct. Well, all i can think of is JUST KEEP WRITING. A trio of wise authors once said, "Anybody can tell you you can't write. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't." -Writing Excuses Team I second that. People can be harsh with words. Sometimes they mean well, and are trying to help. But other times they can be downright mean. Don't let them tell you what you are. Learn from what you can, and as for the rest? "Well, they just aren't your target audience." -paraphrased from the fourth wise author on Writing Excuses. Writing is an outlet for your dreams. Be those dreams what they may, they are YOURS. Own them. Improve them. Anguish over them. And don't be afraid to leave fanfiction and write your own dreams. I recently had the privilege of having a friend write a fanfiction for my own work. (which is neither published nor finished) and let me tell you all, it is amazing. Someone that cared enough about my dream and my work to make their own based off of it? And then write it!? Pure joy. Just write. And love it. -Pakari's three rules of Fanfiction- (these are my personal opinion. Take them how you will. I write epic fanfiction, of saving the world, of falling in love, and journeying to far-off lands, and then usually saving the world again. If you don't like it, you're not my target audience.) 1. Respect the characters. They were created by someone else, and while we can change them in a variety of ways, they still belong to the vision of the original author. I never change the functional morality of characters i adopt (for example i'm not going to write Link going and having fun at a brothel, or even pressuring a girl to get with him. He's not that kind of guy, and i refuse to write that) I maintain their ideals and beliefs, and if they don't have those i give some to them. If you love them as much as the author does, please respect these characters for who they are, and for who they can become in your (hopefully responsible) hands. 2. Writing must have a point. As much as i love daydreams about me and attractive characters, i will never write them. There isn't a story there, and not worth my time. The reason i write fanfiction is because i was inspired by the beauty of the story, to expand that world or those characters. A story has to be exactly that, a story, with characters, plot and setting. My fanfics are all, if i ever finish them XD, gonna be around 100,000 words long. Because they are a story, and mean something. 3. Fanfiction is the beginning. It is practice, where you grow and then refine the skills of a writer, screenwriter, or artist. So take honest critique well, ignore dishonest critique, but then give your own! (hopefully honest) This is a place for writers to grow, and progress, until the time they can write their own dreams. So don't be a jerk, and don't listen to jerks. Learn from it, and move on. Thank you for the visit, and please, if you're going to read my work, please leave a review! I'm like a weird anime hero that gains strength by people telling him stuff about his writing. (OVER 9000) *and if my hair randomly turns yellow i'm not complaining* Advice for writers of all skill levels- -Story Notes- As the Ice Burns- Completed. Not as good as it could be, but it was my first finished work, gimme some slack. (Deus Ex Machina for the win!) Demented- Presently Discontinued. Awesome idea, but I didn't get very far before other things caught my attention. If you like it let me know, maybe i'll continue it one day. Prince of Darkness- On Hold. One of my favorites, ever, but i realized that if i wanted to finish it, it would be a three-book series, each over 80,000 words long. HUGE. One day. (originally intended to be the frame for an actual game, if you want the gameplay mechanics i would love to post those in notes.) Queen Mononoke- In Progress. I still love this one, but my beta reader has been very very busy with college and living and other important things, so i fear writing more without my main source of quality control... or i can get over it and just keep writing. So many things i want to write... Miriks of the Light- Destiny. Currently working on! Almost done with the first arc!!! Joshua, Sadaria, and Tihna are my Guardians; however, in my worldcanon none of them are The Guardian. Tiana, The Guardian in my story, is not mine, but is in fact borrowed from my friend Aqua Brightwind, whose Destiny story features her as the main character (it is currently being rewritten and i am hecka excited for its re-release) When the Sun Falls- Frozen/Tangled. Sequel to As the Ice Burns. Released. Unfinished. White Return, Black Rebirth- Bleach AU collaboration with Aqua Brightwind. Released! Part one finished. The characters I write are Vikram and his family, Rukia, LaNae, Nogir, and Don Voan. Aqua's characters are Jill, Ben, Sven, Ana, Tann, and Andar. We shared the Tournament Arc and the Dealer Commanders. Faceless- Spirited Away. Unreleased. Unfinished. Crimson Tears of Sky- Legend of Zelda: BotW. Unreleased. Unwritten. The Bending of Souls- Avatar, the Last Airbender/ Journey to the West crossover. Written, released. The Heist of the Heart- Lupin the III, (Castle of Cagliostro) sequel. Idea assisted by Superfan44. Unwritten, Unreleased. Aftershadows- Gravity Falls. Begun, probably won't finish. |
