This is a response to a challenge issued a while back by Whitefeather1965 to change one thing in an episode that changes the course of the episode and potentially the rest of the series. For mine I went with using the unfilmed scene from the script of "A Lovely Little Affair" with Amanda in Alan's hotel room and ask the question, "what if she didn't leave?"

Getting caught in a compromising situation is never easy to explain

My 1st story in answer to Birgit's challenge on the Scarecrow facebook page to write a story stating with the line "The difference is I lie for a reason.

This story is courtesy of a post by Khell in the FB SMK Fanfic group from WritersDigest. The Prompt: Write a short story, of 700 words or fewer, that begins with the following sentence: The difference is, I lie for a reason. So, here's my attempt. For mine, I chose to write it from Dotty's PoV to explain why she lies to her family.
