Author has written 1 story for Tomb Raider. Hey there everyone! I'm Shadow, and I grew up on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. However, I've been moved all over the place, so I'm starting to feel a little like a nomad. I love to write. I know that sounds cliche, but there are only so many ways to say the same thing. Of course, no one really likes their own writing or even appreciates it, and I am certainly no exception. I am fascinated with humans and their capacity for incredibly complex emotions and reasoning. It's the driving force behind all of my written works. There is nothing more satisfying than using words to explore the recesses of the human heart and mind. But enough of that! I'm 19, going on 45. I was always a little ahead of my age group, and I suppose that's one of the reasons my writing sways the way it does. They say you can't write what you have never experienced, and I have found that to be completely true. Fortunately for me, I've been through a great deal more than most 19 year olds, and not all of it good. I simply view it as fuel for the fire, and nothing more. Right now, I'm in the midst of putting together the last chapters of my first completed fanfic, sorting out ideas for my first (and long dreamed of) novel, and planning my wedding. Like I said, I'm a little ahead of schedule in everything, including my relationships. I am engaged to an incredible guy. A Marine. I suppose that word alone says it all. He's my greatest inspiration, and he probably always will be. Good thing I'm marrying him then, huh? My favorite movie is The Crow, because I've been a huge J. O'Barr fan for a looooooong time. His work has always stood out as terrifyingly unique and terribly poignant all at the same time. If you haven't guessed by now, I love comic books. Frank Miller is another one of my all-time favorites. He's got the goods, baby. Favorite book has to be the Count of Monte Cristo. I was only a wee thing when I first picked up that book. The unabridged version, even. I think I might have given myself brain damage, but I've always loved it ever since. Dumas had a way with subtly interpreting human emotions that I've always admired. I don't really watch television and I'm alergic to Hollywood, so I don't really have any favorite stars to throw out there. I listen to heavy metal. Yes, I'm positive I'm a girl. You want to know something even creepier? I'm religous! My favorite band is Dimmu Borgir, a death metal gig from Norway. They rock my socks. Studying occult lore is my hobby (obsession, really). But I won't go into that. Too many possible questions, if you know what I mean. I have a very fluffy cat that has to be the feline embodiment of every dust-bunny on the face of this planet. On top of that, she's rather daft... I'm currently living in South Carolina after a semester stint up in D.C. For the younger audience, a word of caution about college... Boring. As.Hell. Go out, get a job, put some money away, and actually do something that educates you in how to live life. Then, if you still want to, start hitting the books. I'm not sure about school anymore. I can't stand formalized education anyways. But then, what do you all care? That's about it, folks. Enjoy my stories, my ideas, and my imaginative labors! And of course, good luck with your own. It's important that a community of writers this large continues to encourage each other, so go read all the wonderful stories out there! I can personally asure you that there are some incredibly talented authors among us! Well, I have to get back to reality, but I appreciate all of those who have taken the time to invest in my story, and for those who have encouraged me with their kind words and humorous stories of fat cats sitting on house plants. Bob, that one is for you! Remember to keep creating! It's what makes us who we are! |
