Hello to anyone who has stumbled upon my profile. My name is Caitlin and I am a university student from Sydney, Australia. I have been involved in the Harry Potter fandom since 2004 alternating between fanfiction and roleplay. Harry Potter is my fandom of choice and I will rarely move out of it. My passion is mostly character development. I love complex characters who are unlike the norm. To me, writing is about escapism. It is about entering and writing a world unlike what you encounter. In general, this is the rule I follow for both roleplay and fanfiction. This is why the characters I write are normally the darker side of human nature because it is something different and I love exploring what can make someone act in a particular way. It does not mean I support those characters and what they do, but my number one rule is to emphasise the notion that these are fictional characters.

My focus is often Death Eaters, Blacks with only a few rare exceptions. I generally comply with canon almost to a fault or what could conceivably fit into canon. However, I have been known to write AU, but only within reason. For every change to a canon personality there is an explanation. For example, I have written an AU Tom who is different only because he was raised by Merope. Pairings are similar. I prefer canon at least in the background and I am critical of ones that cannot fit into canon or require OOC behaviour.

As for the name, it is simple. It was created several years ago, but the same idea applies; Bella (obviously Bellatrix) Riddle (obviously Tom Riddle/Voldemort)= MrsBellaRiddle. It is meant to pull together the characters who I most often write about and my OTP. It also helps that I have the exact same user name on almost all sites. This does make stalking easier, but then I have no problem with all of my on line identities being connected and anyone is fine to contact me using anything above.

Types of Fics: I have a strong preference for angst and fics of a darker nature. This is probably because of the characters I write and my determination to be realistic. However, I will write the occasional bit of fluff just to mix things up. I'm steadily working on my smut ability, though, despite positive reviews, my faith in my ability is not strong. I also love AUs, but only if it is realistic. I like to take one thing and change it and then see what the ripple effect is.

Connections: For the Body Switch Challenge at HPCF with an IC look at the cliché for a challenge. It will start with a Voldemort/Harry swap (no ship of course) and turn into something else. It looks like it will be at least 10 chapters. Two chapter posted. On Hiatus

Illusions of Victory: My baby. I have had this idea for a while in various forms. It's based on the idea that LV won the war before Harry was even born, but it does not mean everything goes well for the victors. It will feature Blacks, Death Eaters and everything else you would expect in my fics. UPDATED

Announcements

29th October 2014: I'm alive! It is a shock for me as well but somehow muses and inspiration draws me back to the fandom world. My life is busier and different than when I was last here, but I will try to get out some updates for Illusions. It will be my focus. My one shots and challenges will not be a focus and I will probably be writing very few of them. However, by some miracle Illusions has been updated!

To everyone who has reviewed during my hiatus. Thank you so much. Every now and again I would see a review and it was appreciated. However, after so long its way too hard to go back and reply to everything, but, once again, thank you.

Also, very strangely the last time I updated this profile was exactly a year ago. I'm not exactly sure how that happens...
