At this moment in time, I don't have much experience as a betareader. I tend to read what's in front of me, sum up what I think it needs in a concise manner, and give it to the author in a neatly delivered package. I tend to expect a similar directness in communication from other people, so being straightforward and to the point would be very much appreciated. It helps a lot. Ask me questions about what you're writing - that'll probably help too.

Conciseness. I have sort of poetical viewpoint - I'm good with descriptive, flowing language. I'm good with dialogue and internal conflict with characters, when it comes to writing.

I'm not so sure on this point. I'm not so good with grammar, because I don't tend to worry about those kinds of things - it's fanfiction, so I kind of excuse grammar and spelling mistakes here while I would be outraged at finding it in a printed book. Miscommunications can sometimes happen between me and others, because sometimes I choose the wrong thing to say, and people mistake it for flaming. Bear this in mind, please, if you ask me to beta.

1) Rivalry stories. I love rivalry stories between two geniuses, Death Note style.

2) Dramas, with lots of feels involved. Love the feels.

3) Suspenseful stories. I like ones that keep me on the edge of my seat.

4) Absolutely ANY story involving a villain from the original! Depends on the villain, of course, but I'll still probably beta if its not the one I prefer.

Other than those, I can't really tell what I'll find appealing until I see the summary. One thing - it has to be unique. There are certain tropes and kinds of stories that I'll tolerate, but once a story's been done a million bajillion times, I'll just ignore. If it seems dark or grey, I might give it a try. I'm a trickster by nature - I like tricksey stories.

SLASH. I will never betaread SLASH of any kind! Mushy stories. And no, I don't mean Hurt/Comfort or anything like that - I mean the awful, awful kind, where someone takes the original concept of an idea you put out to be adopted and someone takes it and TWISTS it so far from its original concept that you want to vomit while reading -

Anyway, that happened to an idea of mine. To this day, I can't stand certain kinds of stories like that.
