I am a very nitpicky editor who can discern which written works have stylistic licenses and which ones need to be checked for mistakes which can be overlooked by most writers who are eager to finish and publish their work. I also call into question some facts and some plot elements which I feel may need additional research. I am patient with editing because I understand that tiny details can make or break the whole story, but I am not patient with authors who refuse to acknowledge my perspective on their fiction. However, if a piece of fiction proves to be a worthwhile read, I will be the first to praise its author.

I excel in proofreeding, especially in checks for spelling, grammar and punctuation. I am particular about subject-verb and adjective-adverb agreements. I follow the Strunk and White Manual of Style for the most part. When performing factual checks, I employ my research skills in order to verify what authors have written.

Because I have bad vision (300 in my right eye, 650 in my left), I tend to overlook some details. I perform two to four checks in order to be absolutely certain that the work I'm editing can be released, and even then I still manage to forget to look into some elements. This is why I am a somewhat slow editor who needs around two to three days to edit. I am also particularly biased towards a few writing styles, which make it harder for me to adjust to some authors.

I prefer to beta-edit stories of romance, adventure, suspense... basically anything with an engaging plot.

I'd rather avoid poetry. I will admit I'm hopeless at poems. Also, as much as I love reading humour, I'd rather not edit it, because again I have no talent in writing humourous fiction.
