I'm a new beta reader, with usually a lot of time on his hands and the ability to read multiple tens of thousands of words a day, if need be or if a story catches my mind. I'm 24, and have experience with both creative writing and technical/scientific matters at a college level. I'd prefer to betaread for more mature works, T or M rated, that are at least 50,000 words long. Category is not really important, though I'd probably do best for action/romance/drama genres. I probably won't betaread for a fanfiction category I don't know about or haven't watched or whatever, contact me beforehand to ask if you're worried. Grammar and spelling, punctuation, layout, are all things I'll comment on if they're really bad, but as long as your story is comprehensible to me, I'm more going to focus on working on what could make the story itself better as a story, not the nuts and bolts of your writing.

Action scenes, technical detail, keeping it realistic, vocabulary, spelling, humor, especially more "highbrow" or intellectual humor, epicness (writing a grand scale, world changing type story), military details, sci fi technologies, keeping a plot together, foreshadowing. People tell me I do good villians too.

I tend to write a lot, and get disappointed if stories are too short. Most of my own chapters are 10,000 words plus, and I tend to expect the same from everyone else. Entirely correct grammar isn't the biggest deal in the world to me, and I can tolerate small misspelling as long as I understand what's going on. Staying perfectly true to a character is sometimes hard for me, I like to change or modify people slightly to be more as I see them reacting to the sotry, not how they were in the base material. I don't do well with "pointless" stories, ones that aren't making a moral or philosophic or large scale commentary or point. If you're writing to be silly or just for amusement or at random, I have low tolerance for that. I also get frustrated with slow update speeds.

Science fiction or Fantasy genre action/adventure/romance/drama. I do real well with animes, especially Gundam

Silly, random, childish humor. Stories that take up a paragraph and thats it. If you can't put down a few chapters of at least 500 to 1000 words, it just doesn't feel worth it to me.
