You seem to be under the impression that using present tense in a past tense telling seems to be the way to go. That's wrong. Pick one or the other. Why is it so hard for people on this website to understand this?

Going to be honest, not a fan of the dependence 343 seems to have on Cortana. She was a great character, but I would've been happier if she did disappear indefinitely after Halo 4. Just thought I'd mention that since I'm not the biggest fan of the way romance is used with her and Chief. The pairing is there and it seems normal, but I feel like it's being milked for all its worth in the game's story. That's why I'll always prefer to see John being paired with someone else.

On that note, the romance in this story is so good. Honestly didn't know how things would go between Palmer, John, and Lasky for a bit there. That love, whatever shape you would consider that, came to an end that I was happy with in a way that made sense.

The action in your stories is always engaging to read as well. You draw a solid picture when it comes to those parts and while I don't have more to say on that, I figured I'd at least comment on it since action is always something I take for granted.

Also, bless your soul for taking the time to research the Halo universe before you put things to paper. Sure you change some stuff to fit your story, which I see no problem with, but I appreciate you still using things that line up with the universe. In that same vein I have to thank you for writing in convincing military speech as well. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to specific terms and I hate to call it "playing soldier" but I don't know how else to describe it.

Overall I enjoyed the story and will be looking for more of your stuff. Just make sure your last chapters aren't from different stories. :P

Okay I got so sucked into the flashback that I completely forgot it was a flashback. Fantastic transition back to the present day.

I love seeing Spartans combat with their inner emotions as they suddenly realize their existence for the first time. I also have read a few of your Halo stories at this point and each one has had this period of realization. The thing is, you seem to write it in a unique way each time and it just doesn't get old. It's a pleasant surprise every time and it's so exciting to read.

Liking this start! I thought I was sure who the Spartan in question was but I second guessed myself for a second there. The inclusion of Palmer into Forward Unto Dawn was seamless and leaves me curious about what else is to come.

Good story. I'm especially interested in what the 20th chapter will turn into. Till then, Deuce

Been on a halo fanfiction reading rampage of late, came across this...REALLY enjoyed it. Kind of curious about how the conversation Palmer and Chief would have went...in reference to when she mouths,"We'll talk later." I'm curious as to how their story continues? Do they mutually decide to stay just really close friends? Or does Chief have to break some bad news to Kelly? (Wouldn't envy the discussion) Just curious. Again really enjoyed the story.

Well done. I really enjoyed the whole story. You had some very interesting pairings, and I thought you did a good job of writing them.

I'm hoping that you'll continue the story. You did very well, and would like to read more of your work.
