You know Pansy can still lie plus Hermione need to find evidence just because Pansy mind control her and being the only one in the room...well do create a strong Pansy should Hermione force the truth out of her and the aftermath.
She's a Slytherin just because she have this mental problem and consider an outcast there's still strength in her due to her surviving pure blood status fight in Slytherin and their society and Voldemort shadpw back then.
Never like it when a strong character start sobbing and being all vulnerable in order to advance the romance/pity relationship with their good side opposites. Its out of character.

Wow... Hermione will surely be pissed and feel used if she figures it out... she just told Pansy she wished to help her... maybe become friends someday? And then mind invasion and control... ouch! How will Pansy explain herself?
