ps. I read so much fanfiction, that it's really hard to choose, but my favourite fanfiction is probably "The Rise of a Dark Lord" by .Xanda. Otherwise: definitely "Sink or Swim" by Summer4Girl, but also "On My Radar" by Stellanti Nocte, "To Bow with Pride" by Neural Ignition and "Every Rose has it's Thorn" (very funny and badass) by ParkersPen.
I just kind of picked these at random, and they're all stories that I hope won't be abandoned.
There's one really good one ("Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived" (doesn't really have anything to do with the title) by The Santi), but it hasn't been updated in 4 years, and isn't complete yet either.

I'm currently reading "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R. Tolkien, it's not exciting or suspenseful, but it is interesting (especially if you liked LotR). I don't know what you like (I'm fifteen and you're in your early 20's), so I'd suggest "The Help" incase you haven't read it yet, and Tina Fey's as well as Katherine Hepburn's Memoirs.
