Another excellent study of a moment that could so easily slip by without any additional thought. I loved the brief conversation with "Narumi" - I thought you illustrated his unease perfectly. And Mr Wall may be an imposter but he is clearly not stupid - something I rather enjoyed about this portrait of him. Great writing, as always! :)

What a silly man! Yet, it is a good thing that he was such a silly man or else SPR as we know it would not exist. It's interesting hearing the story from an outsider's perspective. I enjoyed it immensely and hope to able to read more chapters soon.

The principal has an amusing train of thought. For all his fussing and such, I'm glad that he was a paranoid little man. SPR never would have been complete withought all the nonsense he did just to sate his growing delusions. Really, just his thoughts kept me entertained for a long while and I wish there was more. Though, I really can't wait 'til you make one centered on Yasu (please tell me you're planning on making one).

I actually read this a while back and I don't remember all the details, hence the shortness of this review. I was feeling foolish and 9gag beckoned me with a gusto, but it's not because I hated this. I really really enjoyed this chapter. I can't wait for the next!

This was definitely my favorite installment of the three chapters so far! It was really interesting to show the perspective on an outsider on the case, especially the circumstances that brought the team all together.

It's funny how we all seem to forget that Gene exists, albeit in a different realm. This story is yet another jewel from you. I snorted at the first line and a part of me died and withered away at the last line. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you for publishing this story.

I believe that, no matter how incredulously weird their relationship is, Gene truly cared for Mai. If he had not died, maybe his care would have turned into love.

What you wrote is true; that Gene can only be with Mai as he intrudes into her flimsy subconscious thoughts. What a read that would be. Their tragic romance would be almost (but not quite) the same as A and Rhiannon's story from David Levithan's 'Everyday'.

I never considered that it could have been Gene the entire time. I had always thought that he had supplied Mai with the story and that her subconscious had provided the characters. Interesting to see things from his point of view. And that last line is so sad! It always make me wonder what would have happened if Gene had lived.
