I can't help but think that Hermione's reaction to Harry after Krum asked her out was completely out of line. He's her best friend, and he was surprised someone else asked her out. Her telling him to go to hell in response to his surprise was just plain cruel. His attitude afterwards was wrong, but he had every reason to be upset.

To be clear, her going out with Krum wasn't a betrayal, but her telling him to go to hell certainly was.
