Jebe I'm not trying to start a discussion here but you forget a important point. The mutual sacrifice. Akane tried to help Ranma sacrificing the well being and Ranma did the same. This was not the first nor even the last time. Ryugenzawa and Saffron's arc are two examples. This how their relationship works. In fact, Ranma only defeated Saffron because of Akane.
Akane didn't answer the question because she still felt insecure. Ranma had already done the same thing along the series. ;)
The same girls that were sharing pleasantries were the same ones that destroyed Nodoka's house because of the false ring ;)

I'm reading this fic because it seems there will be a frienship between Ranma and Akane which is, to tell you the truth, the only thing I'm interested here. I want to see how the author will develop this.

I'm not trying to offend anyone here but harem and bash fics are too childish for my taste.

Okay. I understand that there are Akane-shippers, and shippers being shippers it's only natural for you to cast the worst allusions towards anything that's not your favorite pairing and try to cast your shipping preference in the best light. The amount of vitriol here is unwarranted, please have some decorum.

In that part of the arc Akane's “helping” directly led to the chart being destroyed, because she wasn't willing to keep it stored wherever she'd put it on her person, after grabbing it following Happosai dropping it. After which she went into incapacitated damsel mode. The result being Ranma had to save her inanimate body and “choose her over the chart” because the tornado of course shredded the chart from wind shear.

From my perspective he gave your favored shipping preferences a fair shake. Akane didn't have an answer to that question. Also arcs like when Ranma went home with his Mom establish that Kodachi, Ukyo, and Shampoo can be in a room with Ranma sharing pleasantries and not have a fight break out. Given the nature of these circumstance versus those, no you shouldn't be calling for a Ayeka and Ryoko style response, and comforting doesn't equal harem.

Okay actual issues:
-The Hiryu Shoten Ha shredded the chart, Happosai was in the process of being buried in a shallow grave when the chart is being shredded. Then he unburies himself, dresses up in a flying squirrel costume, attacks Ranma, and Ranma uses him as a means to glide down somewhat gracefully into a fence. The responsible party as noted above is Akane, albeit unintentionally.

-The handling associated with the use of depression here could use some work. If you're going to go there, you don't just pull yourself out because people are trying to comfort you. Indeed to some extent such company isn't really tolerable under such circumstances. I'd almost suggest you basically end the scene with Ranma going to sleep from the lullaby, with him still being listless, and then handle the rest in the next chapter as part of the build out. Depression leads to listless response with motivation being sapped. As is you're not giving the pathos enough time to breathe and properly setup in this first chapter.

-It is true that Shampoo wasn't there, but this is fanfiction.

Personal preference issue:
-This is rather angsty, and the setup is basically just that Cologne's order to collect the scraps falls through, and someone other then Akane steps in. The premise isn't that original, and the execution of the first chapter doesn't really do much with it beyond setting up angst and depression.

I was searching for a fic where Ranma is paired with Shampoo or Ukyo and is still friend of Akane. Is kinda hard since it seems that most of them have some kind of bashing. Since yours doesn't have any sign of this, I decided to read.

I do believe that the Moxibustion was to make the one affected by it incapable of do any harm even with his ki. So I think even with the Nekoken Ranma wouldn't be able to hurt people. BUT this is my interpretation and this is YOUR fic.
About the pairing, since you don't want RanmaxAkane I believe that Ukyo is the obvious choice, IMO. It's clear that Shampoo only fell in love with Ranma because he was strong and defeated her. Takahashi was very clever when she deceided to not include Shampoo in the moxibustion arc for the reason I mentioned above.
If Ranma doesn't have his strength I think neither Cologne or Shampoo will have interest in him.
But I still think Shampoo and Akane can still be his close friends ;)

Good start. I hope you update soon. I can't wait to see what will happen next. If I could offer a suggestion: Perhaps you should have Ranma learn Aikido. It is a martial Art that while defensive in nature, requires no strength. In fact if one uses strength then the techniques become very difficult to execute. Rather Aikido has the user target the opponent's body's natural weak spots to disable or incapacitate them. If Ranma were to learn such an art then perhaps he would not only regain his fire, but start to mature as well. Ranma is known to be capable of picking up Martial Arts techniques and styles fairly quickly so it would not be out of the realm of possibility. It would also be extremely funny if Ranma's enemies were to attack him only to discover quite painfully painfully that he's not helpless. I'd suggest looking up Aikido to learn more if you think my idea has merit.

This is an amazing story :D great pairing, never seen it before and seems great :D keep up the awesome work :D

Nice chapter, I like the idea. I can also see it being a Kasumi story possibility, but I like where you were going with it. I thought Akane freezing instead of going after the chart was as good a point to diverge as any, just a bit of guilt seeped in over the lack of response to his question, and it changed everything.
I don't see a problem with Ukyo and Shampoo getting along, as they have a mutual reason to do so. The main reason they fight as much as they do (more than with Akane), is primarily because they each view the other as the biggest threat, not only to Ranma's heart, but in terms of rivalry. They are the so closely matched in abilities, that they can fight for hours on end. Rivals turned friends, and friends turned rivals is a very common thing in real life and fiction. It also depends on how they work the truce. It won't go well if they are just sitting there waiting for the other one to one up them, but if they both concentrate only on helping Ranma they might gain more respect for each other. Something that would be good to show for the nay-sayers.
Other than a handful of typos, such as spelling 'moxibustion' correctly in the intro and not in one place in the story, or 'sight' when you meant 'sigh', that sort of thing, it was very well written. The only nit pick is Shampoo's name in Mandarin is 'Shan Pu', not Xian Pu, as cool as that looks. (X's are sexy).

I can see many ways for this story to go, Kasumi could feel for him and his pain, as I said earlier.
The two of them could protect him, and he could learn other things.
Just because Ranma is weak doesn't mean his brain is broken, he could still learn the art, and teach it, even if he can't put it to use directly.
There are other styles of the art, that are much like the Hiryu Shoten Ha, in that they require little to no strength, such as one of the women in Kenichi, Mikumo, and the Kushinada style of jujutsu, or another like it.
As you said, it is poosible that his ki is still useful, and he could use that to fight, without physical strength, but odds are, that the way the Moxibustion works, is to block the ki flow, because most of his strength has to be powered by ki, since it is so far beyond human.
It IS quite possible that they could find someone else who CAN unblock it, someone who knew it already, or knows another technique that can help. Such as with the Cat-tongue there was no actual cure, but a pill that acted as a counter agent, so finding something, that would make him strong in another way, like the Calligraphy strength mark, or something similar.
Other possible ways to overcome this are magic, like the wishing sword, or a Kami inclined to grant a wish, or answer their prayers. The helpline is of course an option, as are other random kami, such as Yato, the war god from Noragami, who will grant wishes for 5 yen (the amount most people give at a shrine).

There are many directions this could go (these were just a few examples), depending on what kind of story one wants to write. Thank you for taking the time, I enjoyed it, very touching moments.

This is alright but it has to get better & I think the way to do that is

1) The trio (Ranma, Shampoo & Ukyo) leave Nerima
2) The rest of N.W.C (including Happosai & Cologne) dosen't find them right away
3) Ranma does desensitize training thanks to Neko-Shampoo
4) Ranma does weight training while learning with Ukyo Amazon-wu from Shampoo

Really? Of all the moments that you choose to brake up Ranma and Akane you choose one of the three or four times that shows just how much they care for each other to do it? Really? Why this point? Why the time where EVERYONE ELSE lives him for his lack of strength BUT Akane to do this? Hell Ukyou attacks Happi due do something along the lines of "what good is he to me now" for goodness sakes IIRC.

This just seems odd for you to decide that Akane does nothing when she is the only one who did anything and have him end up with the other two who really wouldn't care for him AT ALL save for his power and one or both would just kill him to ease the stain on their honor if he had been stuck this way.

I will add, though, that your English has improved greatly. I didn't notice any errors, and in fact did not remember that you were not a native English speaker until I took a look at your profile. You've done a great job capturing the emotions and doubts of the characters.
