Reviews for Wounds on the Doorstep
Guest chapter 1 . 7/27/2015
What a perfect little fic this is! Sometime I imagine that Prof Tolkien left some information out so that geniuses like you could fill the gaps.
There was enough detail to set the scene but not make me lose interest which is always a plus.
I loved the darrows relationship with their burglar shown here! (And I'm still grinning at Oins ointment)
blueskydog chapter 1 . 12/31/2014
Awww I LOVE this! I've wanted to write about that exact passage for a really long time myself, but I could never quite figure it out-and now I can live in peace knowing someone else has already done it, and better than I ever could. You describe Bilbo's panicked run up the tunnel so well I felt a little scorched myself, and I loved the dwarves' gentle concern for their hobbit. It's nice to read a story were the focus is on Bilbo without getting him mortally wounded. A little burned, very tired, but safely back outside with his Company.

You handled the whole event really well, not dragging it out for too long or skimming over it too quickly either. It makes me feel concerned for our beloved little burglar, and it's great to see him getting some tender loving care from the dwarves who have come to love him.

In short, I really like this! Thanks for writing it, you have no idea how long I've been looking for it. :)

Oh, this is nice! I love that you stick with the book for the events, but borrow a little of the visual elements and characterizations from the films. I really think that is most often the very best approach to fusing the very different worlds of book and movie.

Very well done, and I am quite sure Bilbo appreciated the attention!
FanOfRandomThings chapter 1 . 5/10/2014
Very cute, I like it when authors further write on little passages in the book.
This was good :)
BakerStreetIsLastRefugeOfHope chapter 1 . 4/20/2014
Very well written.
shirebound chapter 1 . 4/14/2014
Bilbo h/c, love it. I'm insatiable when it comes to our beloved hobbits getting as much gentle TLC as we can give them.
