He took him shopping on the first of August (the day after his birthday), gave him his Hogwarts Express ticket, and told him to be there on the first of September. There's an entire MONTH between shopping in Diagon Alley and the trip to Hogwarts. |

I don't care what Rowling wrote; she couldn't write her way out of a bucket, in broad daylight! I believe that 'Lockhart' is Rowling's 'Mary Sue'!) and taking up with nearly the biggest pustulent boil (aka the great ill-mannered clod, the great walking, mouth-breathing, gut, and 'fat friend'; put there to prevent Harry from having 'unapproved' friends and to keep him dumbed-down and uninformed) of the series!
