Okay I signed up just to comment on this brilliant work of art, even though it's from 2014( which isn't even that old).

I don't have a clue if the author is still active, but who cares. This exceptional fanfiction deserves a review.

First of all: the writing was amazing. I didn't have to pause every single second to bemoan the writing and way the plot was executed. No places felt rushed, and there was even some character development( which is sadly quite rare in fanfiction.

Secondly, I think Edward was brilliantly written. Well executed, and you stuck to his beliefs, and the way his character is in the original series.

My third point. The way you wrote The Gate, interactions with the gate, and explained everything. It was so well done, I cannot find words to express it. It simply blew my mind, and was honestly the main reason I even decided to comment.

It's an interesting take on magic, alchemy and The Gate. One I haven't seen before( and honestly I read too much fanfiction).

All in all: brilliant plot, well executed, and intriguing.

...you know how in so many fics people make fun of Ed because of his usual outfit? I kind of wish they wouldn't, because he makes it look good. He really, really does. In a lot of pictures, the outfit is made to look even better because of the artist.

I am fascinated by how epic you ended this, and that it was not all tied up neatly with a bow. Ed ran out of personal resources to fix Equivalent Exchange and had to be satisfied with fixing the Gate. So by extension he may have saved the future world from Voldemort. I love it. If your muse ever feels like writing a sequel, maybe in that parallel timeline, I am down for that.

I liked Ed talking to himself. That was fun. Well maybe not so fun for Ed, but fun for me.

This is a really good story!

It makes me kind of sad that you haven't updated for almost a year, but I can understand. You have your own personal life which is more important than a story. That and sometimes you just loose inspiration to write or get writers block. Neither are fun. :(

Well, I do hope to see you continue this someday, but if you don't I understand.
