Alright! Shepard and Liara finally are starting their family. Do you think Vara and Liara should have a little conversation here? Maybe something like this. After Vara shakes her head and says Liara what have you done. Liara says Im doing what I have wanted to do for centuries with Shepard. Then Vara says, yes but dont you think the timing is wrong? Then Liara says the time is always wrong for Shepard and me. This is the closest to good timing we will have and I am not going to miss it. After our conversation on our way to Omega, I dont know how long I will have him for. I pray we have him for a very long time. When I was first married to Shepard I was too young to give him a family to my dismay. Then the collectors came then the reaper wars and I lost him. Vara you know my memories…... the pain….the void I felt. Vara I want this…..I need this to happen. Will you help me? Will you be there for me and Shepard? Vara says I know, I understand … I love you. Of course I will be there for both of you. Then Vara says with a big grin and almost singing we are going to have the sound of little feet again. Our daughters are going to be so surprised the hear they will have a sister. How exciting. Liara says I feel like a young maiden on on the Nomandy again. Both Liara and Vara hold hands and giggle together. Then Shepard wakes and says you two sound like to teenage asrai. Then Liara and Vara laugh.
Anyway, there goes my imagination again. Is there going to be a fancy wedding when the battle is over? The last time Shepard and Liara were married it was a rushed simple ceremony. God I hope you dont have the collective call him back! Perhaps they can release him but will store his conciousness. Cant wait to read your next pages.

It's like everything conspired against Liara to lead her to this point :-) At least once, the conspiracy is actually good.

I believe that Vara must have known what Liara was doing, seeing as she did it herself two times in the past. That tells me that this is what she wanted as well... and Shepard.

Well, aside from falling asleep afterwards, heh :-) We know for sure that he always wanted the little blue children with Liara :-)

The idea about the ascended intelligence going inevitably "crazy" over time is very interesting. It might be that an advanced artificial intelligence would program into itself a time of its permanent shutdown to prevent the problem.

If the Intelligence really had Shepard's personality and it then concluded that it could become dangerous again... I believe that it would destroy itself to prevent that.

Well, that was somewhat unexpected, though a pleasant reminder of many talks in the Reaper Wars. Followed up by Liara being impatiently passionate. Certainly not like her, but circumstances did affect her greatly. Probably doesn't want to lose another chance at being the mother of Shepard's child. Until next time.

You knooooow. You are making it REALLY... REALLY hard to have a favorite chapter at this point. That was magnificent in all ways. That was a flawless chapter. What a delight. Hard sci fi and the romance all the fans following have surely been waiting for. This was a chapter worthy of waiting out the long years reading memoirs. I can't have a favorite part of this chapter.

I can lend to you nothing in critiquing aside from praise for this one. This one was just too good. My years of following feel so very rewarded at this point. Thank you for this chapter and for reaching this point in the story. Just thank you.

I'm glad Miranda got released from Liara's service, and now just might be able to survive this war with more than what she started it with.

I must admit though, I'm very concerned for everyone else. If Liara gets injured again, she'll probably lose the child she's now carrying. If Shepard or Vara die, the child loses one of her parents. There's so much that can go wrong here, I really just hope I'm being paranoid.

Oh my. Liara is most definitely pregnant, with one awesome child to boot. I find it hard to imagine the potential traits... taking the best of Liara and Shepard and adding in Vera's sharp mind and devotion. Of course, the timing could certainly be better, because they still need to survive the war in order for her to ever be born... and Vera knew. Does Shepard? Be interesting to see where all this goes!

Oh...shit. Yeah, things just got a lot weirder. Perhaps that's why Vara is so concerned: she pulled off what should have been impossible, or at the very least, extremely rare. I imagine were they to consult certain experts, they might find only a relative handful of cases stretching back a few millennia. For some reason, I'm hearing Daft Punk's Human After All in my head thinking about how asari and human females are more alike than different.

It is entirely natural for an older woman or asari to develop a certain instinct upon hearing a loved one is pregnant. I just hope that Vara is not upset that she did it, but that she is merely worried about what it means. To combine the traits of such powerful personalities, especially the one who, for all intents and purposes, may as well be a demigod...such a child would be forever destined to do great things. Not to mention, just the concept of picking and choosing almost makes it sound like she's playing Goddess. I could see an entire book or even a series devoted to such a being. So many possibilities, and not all of them are pleasant. Can't wait to find out what happens next.

That should be some daughter Liara has - best of both Shep and Vara.

A bit of shock development with miranda, but it fits the asari mindset of thinking in decades and other life is so fleeting in comparison.

Also good Consideration with a organic mind being corrosive, if made dominate upon the intelligence.

Nice job on this chapter. I like how you frame Liara's decision to become pregnant. Probably as well or better done than any of the other descriptions of Asari becoming pregnant in fanfic. Thanks for your hard work on this, looking forward to the next installment.

Cool, I think I can finally say this, Liara is pregnant!

When Aria says about Talia being Shepard's I think Liara’s reaction should have been more angry (shouts” IMPOSSIBLE!” “How dare you imply such!” and her biotics kicking in and trying to stare down Aria, while Aria smiles and watches her reaction in amusement. Liara gives Shepard a hard stare (Shepard totally confused)when she thinks about the time Aria and he were alone and she uninvited by Aria, then Liara reasons it out) she catches herself like you had in the story. (those Kogan genes and no one messes with her Shepard!) and of course Aria laughing her head off at her (good part Aria loves to irriate) (love it) Liara is a only child and connects deeply when she allows herself and doesn’t share her bondmates. Vara and Shepard is a unique situation for her. Plus Vara was kidnapped as well so patiences ran out. I do enjoy you story
