When you said you're retracting any religious content, that doesn't include cybertronian mythology, does it? I really enjoy the concept of the twin Gods: Primus and Unicron. PLEASE don't take that away! It adds a lot of depth to your story.
If you think you need to remove implications of human religion, that's fine. Although, I feel that people have much bigger problems to deal with than to stress over the ideas of God(s) vs. no God(s). It's truly petty to argue over, to be honest. But I suppose butthurt people will nitpick because they've nothing better to do with their lives.
