Holy shit. I adore this fic. This is the groom!wank fic I didn't know I needed! Would've wanted him to eventually pop up in her life like a particularly horrifying jack-in-the-box being all like "Surprise! Thought I was dead, didn't you?" and ruining her life erotic horror style, but then I guess I'll have to write it myself (and trust me, I suck at lemon scenes). Wish me luck!

You should really make a second book about Clair and what's been happening to her after Mount Massive and Eddie. I bet it would be just as great as the last.

I friggin' love this. The story got thicker when the "baby" got involved.

Now I was just wondering about the dream Clair had. Is that how the family will really turn out to be, or how Clair perceives or want to believe how it'll turn out? She was very adamant on thinking of Eddie as nothing more than an monster, and her past would no doubt solidify that.

The ending was perfect. It was a great blend of hopeful, and yet tinged with the suspense that characterized much of the interactions with Eddie. I think it was necessary for Clair (and by extension, us as the reader) to see that any possibility for a "happy ending" with Eddie could only be a dream. And even using that innocuous word for her traumatizing experience with him just doesn't seem to hold up. You wrote the Groom well-he was fascinating in his delusions, seductive even, but he was still brutal in all the ways imaginable. He was waiting to inflict pain on her, and that insight is just one part of what makes this story great.
