Mary is just a nurse in the clinic / surgery, right? I do not believe that she would be able to give John an okay for taking 2 weeks of break. That would be task rather for someone much higher positioned ( John's boss) like Sarah from TBB.

But it is nice to see Sherlock likes her even in your version of the return. Most likely he has already deduced that John is interested in her. (-:

I am a bit surprised that John has not even once considered taking Sherlock to hospital in this chapter - or at least contacting Mycroft. I mean however much they pretend to not stand each other, Mycroft worries all the time for Sherlock - and would have been able to provide supplies such as antibiotics for the wound in the shoulder.

Other then that I am glad they are reunited.
