I know Japan is very cruel, not only for his sibling but another country (like, my country). Anyway, I love how you portray China, it must be hard for him... To see his brother die, to lost his empire, to see so many wars, and see a lot of people die. I really love your writing, you can describe everything very clearly, it make me can feel the Chara's feeling and I like China and Australia's ... friendship (can I say it friendship?) Awww, I love this chapter!

I know there were serious points, and I love how you wrote Australia's guilt over killing someone, and that you included a bit about people taking on the beliefs and customs of an occupying force, rather that it just being bad Japanese people versus good everyone else. I don't know how you manage to think of every little detail when you're writing a story, especially for those that take place during wartime, but you're constantly surprising me with the research and sheer amount of detail that goes into every chapter. I love it!

My favourite part of this chapter though is definitely the scene at the end, with China comforting Australia. It's a perfect way to show China's greater expericene with warfare, but also the growing friendship between the two nations, which I am really enjoying, it's so sweet! :)

This story is absolutely brilliant! It's so emotional and heart-wrenching, and the interactions between China and Australia are very sweet :) I'm looking forward to the next update!

Almost all invading troops try and change the nation they are occupying. Rome didn't really try as long as the people declared loyalty to the Roman Empire, but the colonists did it to the Native Americans and other examples I can't think of at the moment. Usually they failed because humans are stubborn beings who don't like losing or change.

Hey! Sorry I haven't reviewed in a while, I've just returned from an exchange in the UK, so life has been a bit hectic. I loved this chapter though (not like that's anything new, I've liked every chapter I've ever read from you)! I like that both China and Australia are stubborn characters, but they're still so willing to help each other out with everything, even though it is for both their benefit, like Australia said. I'm just really enjoying reading the changing relationship and growing respect between the two nations, and I can't wait to see what the promised drama in the next chapter will bring!

Brilliant story! It's written so well and I love the history that's been interwoven into such an interesting story! Some lines were so touching for me I felt like crying ahaha ;

"The face of the broken and beaten empire. As Australia had begun, China had started to crumble, and by the time Australia was almost grown, China had been so beaten down by the Western nations that it seemed impossible for him to ever rise again." (heartbreakingly true)
