Reviews for The Last Tribute |

![]() ![]() ![]() This story was amazing. I loved reading Haymich’s story of the games. I also loved the idea of Capitol reconditioning therapy & Effie being drugged out of her mind. This was beautifully written and completely engrossing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Very interesting to look at things from the mentor point of view ! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Bam! Now that is how you open a story! I love giving Haymitch his due- such a smart, disappointed man. Can't wait to dive into this :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() The beginning of this chapter is simply amazing. I can’t read any other fanfic now that I’ve read yours. I keep comparing them to your work and nothing seems good enough anymore... |
![]() ![]() ![]() It was really interesting to have this fanfiction from the viewpoint of Haymitch. I loved it ! |
![]() ![]() ![]() this was actually incredible! I have read the whole hunger games series and Haymitch had always stuck out as an interesting character; I'm so glad you wrote this as it shows that there is more to him that his drunk, incapable facade he puts on. Once again, amazing work, you truly inspired me. |
![]() ![]() ![]() J'aime bien ton histoire, dommage que tu n'ais pas fait la suite. |
![]() ![]() ![]() What many people have overlooked in this particular chapter is the fact that Cato and Clove were actually happy for this development too. They are often protrayed as killing machines, but despite everything every single tribute wants to live - Cato and Clove included. More decent people - such a Thresh - show a lot more consideration than the likes of Cato and Clove ever would, sure (his consideration for poor Finch is very honourable, really), but it's the Games themselves. They're sick and nobody wants to die. I think it was a stroke of genius to express that in this chapter in such a subtle way. |
![]() ![]() So, so, so good! Read the entire story and loved it. |
![]() ![]() Wow that was beautifully written |
![]() ![]() I liked the descriptions of the semi-traditional filming of the reunion between the mentors and the victors. I especially liked it because it gave us one of our only glimpses of Otho, ravish and livius in this story. They won in the 3 years before katniss and peeta, and while there was a lot of other things going on, I wish they'd at elegant been mentioned a little more throughout the last tribute. Based on what little you've told us about those 3, I think I would have liked them. P.S. Wonder what livius did to make Brutus even more unpleasant during there reunion then he was with Otho (keep in mind that Otho spent most of his games curled up trying to fight off the cold instead of hunting tributes or anything, which couldn't have made Brutus that proud of him). |
![]() ![]() ![]() Pretty Brill story |
![]() ![]() ![]() I know this is an older story but I just found and read it. I really enjoyed it. Haymitch is a fantastic multi-layered character and you did a great job with him. I am very much a Hayffie shipper which was what I was looking for, their stories. Once I started this though I had to finish it. Also, I am a Gale/Katniss fan ever since reading the books but I thought Peeta was particularly likable and well rounded in your tale. Just wanted to drop you a line saying thanks for the read! |
![]() ![]() Re-reading this in depth for the first time, I just noticed the ex peacekeeper sponsor, who is almost definitely Justinian Benz (nice continuity there). |
![]() ![]() ![]() You have a very compelling way of telling this story. I'm glad I got to read this, I think you did justice to the characters and I love them all the more now. Great job. |
