First of all, let me say that I greatly enjoy these little character one-shots for your story, and expect one for mine with Wen and Chan soon! ;)
Sooo...I would like to say for the beginning part about Xin and his dad and mom's situation; it made me cry because it's an actual horrible reality for some kids. (Like Chan.) You made me jealous because I wanted that for chan. *pouts*
You are very talented as describing scenery and giving readers a scene of environment; I could picture Baby!Xin's little apartment all cluttered as his mother does laundry and the horribleness of his dad.
Shit, Boa, when Baby Xin asked his mom that question, it shattered my heart!
*Momma..." He pauses, steeling himself. You're not going to get another opportunity, he thinks, and gets ready to ask the question, "What's a-what's a b-bastard?"

LIke, come on! How did you expect me to react with this heart-shatteringness...? Boa...I ran out of tissues already!
And, like, at first I was, like omg his dad is a total ass, but than I remembered Xin has blue eyes (does he have dark skin, too?) And that he isn't fully fire nation so I was like aweeee I get it! He gets his looks from his momma and his bending from his...well, the other guy. *winces* I wish we could see more mixed LOOKING people in the show, ya know? Mako and Bo are mixed, but look souly like their element. Like what if Bo looked fire nation with ember eyes and stuff, but was still an earthbender? Ya know? mEELLTTTIINGG POTT!
Also, I questioned why the family lived in Omashu in the EK when they were FN and WT...? I thought they lived in the FN...

The repetitiveness of Chan wanted to make sure his dad doesn't get mad because he's afaid of him, is very sad. But, I love the relationship of Chan and his mom. At least that is healthy. Chan had the worst of both parents. And the explanation Xin's mom gives him is amazing.

Momma sounds so ashourd and confident that Xin believes her.
The words are firmly imprinted in his mind for the rest of his life.*
That bit, is very heart warming and personal to me; because someone whom I care about said something very similar like that about me to my dad when I was born. I just...this part was amazing, Boa. I have no words.

Aweee and Xin has a crush on a nice, quiet girl. *sigh* You made me all feely Boa, until she talked about how her dad beats her. That made me all sad. There was a kid in middle school whose's dad beat him and he came into school one day with a black eye and the teacher was investigating it, and the boy said his dad hits him whenever he wants to paint his nails like his sister or do 'girls stuff'
Yeah, that father got arrested...
Anyway, this story is hitting on some very personal levels for me, but I love you all the more for it. :)
I laughed when Xin kissed her and she slapped him. Like a baby!Makorra playground scene hehehehe...

My first initial thought was that her dad killed her by beating her too much. *winces* Yeah, we think alike huh?

This part killed me:

And he kills her. That SOB kills Xin's loving momma and makes Xin watch and I just alfkafh
I would quote parts of it, really, but it still makes me cringe just thinking of it. Can you really please do a bit where Kuru is the mugger who killed Mako and Bo's parents? Like, can you do a one-shot about Bo and his life for TOSOM, and include this? You can include the orphanage scene from me that you wanna do, and kill two birds with one stone, ya know? We'll talk about it. :)

*cringes* because It kinda scares me how much Xin is enjoying the thought of killing his dad. I'm torn between cheering him on for ending the SOB, and crying because I want Xin to be the bigger person and not go down that road, but-

And he set the blasted place on fire and kills his dad and some others. I admit, I cheered like a maniac when it happened.
