Loved this story!
Mirnava chapter 6 . 9/15/2014
I loved this story. It was a wonderful read, everyone was in character (almost too much so; how do the boys never have any sort of injury in the show? They sure have PLENTY of cause for it!), and a wonderful storyline. Sam and Dean were perfect, Dean always putting his Sammy first and Sam always trying (and failing) and wishing he could do the same for his older brother.
Honestly, it was the little things you put in that made it so real. "I hate feeling like an invalid," as Sam complains, followed by Dean's easy banter of, "Well, you are one," is an example. These seemingly tiny elements of easy banter and sincere worry really brought this whole story off the page.
There were, unfortunately, a couple confusing parts in the narration when I couldn't keep track of who was doing what to whom, especially in the middle of a fight scene. There was one chunk I didn't follow in the mill and another in the cabin, both with the shifters and both boys. I'd just split a couple of the sentences and add back in some nouns in place of a few pronouns. All of the "he"s are kind of confusing, especially since every single character in this story is a male.
Other than those few areas, your storytelling is superb. I followed you, understood that the shifters came back because Bobby went hunting them, comprehended what was going on (poor, poor Sam! I don't think his head will ever not be sore again! Yet, for all the action in the actual show, I'm surprised there isn't a single episode with even a mention of this!) and overall enjoyed the story. Oh, and your grammar was high quality, too, making it all the more enjoyable for me. ;)
Keep up the good work! I'll be looking for more of your pieces in the future!

JuseaPeterson chapter 6 . 9/5/2014
This was very intense and I had not imagined there would be four shifters up there plus a black dog. I didn’t expect Laura to be one either. I was so glad that Sam and Dean were there for each other and that Sam had called Bobby and he was able to help them out.
K Hanna Korossy chapter 6 . 9/3/2014
Geez, I'm kinda frustrated now with Dean for taking the blame for the second attack when that really wasn't his fault! How do you hide from something that can see inside your head? But I loved Bobby coming to the rescue, even after the guys managed to take a few shifters down themselves, and that Bobby cleaned up the cabin for them. Wonder what story they gave the clinic the second time around. :)
And I love the onion excuse.
zekeschance chapter 6 . 9/2/2014
Just a perfect story!
zendog chapter 6 . 8/31/2014
Great ending to a fab story. Had it all, action, emotion and whump. What's not to like! Fantastic extension of the original one shot.
zendog chapter 5 . 8/31/2014
Ok, it's not often that I am surprised by a turn of events in a story but you just accomplished it...not the librarian! So completely did not see that coming. Fab.
zendog chapter 4 . 8/31/2014
One of the main strengths of the show and these stories is the relationship between the brothers and the way that they will persevere forever in order to protect each other. This chapter shows this beautifully.
