I'm glad that you included Sokka as Bumi's mentor. I find the idea of them having a connection very fitting.

That last line made me cringe. You just revived all the emotion I felt watching this part yesterday.

A couple lines could have been better written. Like, "with and around the air around him" sounded kind of weird/repetitive. Overall, though, I like this.
