I binged this fanfic in two days. That is something I haven't done in a long time.

I'm also incredibly surprised this fic is five years old and based on an AU that's long forgotten by most. The simple fact that you've stuck with this for so long and maintained your writing style throughout the entire process is astounding.

What I really love is how realistically you portrayed Ruby's recovery process, even if it took a back seat to the larger plot at times. Still, this is one of my favorite fics on this site. You did a damn good job with it.

A well done chapter. Nicely done with the expression and emotions Weiss felt before going to visit Ruby as she prepared a special surprise for her. It was also well done with the explanation from the psychiatrist about Ruby’s condition as well as the pathway for her to properly heal before she is somewhat back to normal. It is understandable that Yang would be irritated a bit that Ruby doesn’t trust her, but there isn’t much that can be done and Blake understands and can keep Yang in check a bit. The healing process will be long and hard, but she took a baby step with explaining her rage and anger so that’s a win, but what penny just said about the arm might make the plan take a step or two back. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

As a fellow medical (and RWBY) nerd, I’ve really enjoyed your attention to the realism of recovery. As you get into prosthetics, have you heard about targeted reinnervation surgery? They redirected amputated nerves into different muscles to improve function in prosthetics. (It immediately made me think of automail!)

Besides the fact that this is YOUR story to tell, the thing I love most about it is how real it is. Though I'm thinking the medical staff might have to use the rectal head extractor on Weiss and Ruby. Lol. I have a theory on what Penny was talking about, but I'll be waiting here for the answer. First of all I am really glad that you came back, second of all I don't mind Ruby being OOC because I too know that she is right to react that way having those injuries and mental problems she's gained from them, and finally I really like this story so far so please keep up the great job.

A well done chapter. Nicely done with portraying Ruby’s bitterness of her situation as she was vastly different from the character that she used to be. The feelings and thoughts she was going through was well described as well as how she snaps at people or her dark thoughts. It was endearing to read Yang and Blake to for visit her even though the situation was tense at the beginning, but the shift was nicely done as Ruby realized that she wasn’t the only one suffering. The end to the chapter was still somber, but there was a bit of hope there as Ruby is determined to get back up. Thank you. Keep up the good work.

Unique perspective helps, doesn't it? A year ago my daughter was recovering from ACL surgery. At 13. She was depressed for a while because she's always been a very active person. Now she's cleared for full activity and much happier about it. Now I just have to keep her younger sister from freaking out whenever big sis does something. Anyway, enough about that. A well done chapter. An interesting look at the repercussions Yang had to go through with all the damage that was done. It quite insightful to read what her thoughts were of the situation that surrounds her and her friends. It was endearing to read that Blake came on by and the two actually had a conversation with one another that didn't end in a bad note. It was good to see that they were able to reconcile with one another as everything seems to be hard on Blake as of late. Thank you. Keep up the good work.
