I don't know what you are worried about and you shouldn't do yourself down like that. This is an excellent story and very original. To say this is your first LOTR story, you are spot on with the personalities of Legolas and Aragorn. My only criticism is that the ending is a bit weak.

Also the correct phrase is "they had ridden out..." not "they had rode...".
