Reviews for Rain From Canvas Skies
Ersatz Einstein chapter 1 . 4/6/2016
There were some minor errors and awkwardness ("he says this... even told this").

As always, I love your slight AUs. You weave an extensive knowledge of tiny canon details into elaborately crafted scenes from Spock's youth. Your characters are always IC, and your method of showing, rather than telling, implies Spock's emotions and lack of conscious expression perfectly.
HeronS chapter 1 . 3/13/2016
This was pure awesomeness! So beautiful. You do time skip stories very well.

Oh, I caught a spelling error: "Commucations"
gemhornet chapter 1 . 2/10/2016
I love these insightful little stories/paragraphs with the theme of music. Thought-provoking and very well done.
MaryChapel chapter 1 . 4/17/2015
Very sweet story. :) Well done!
Carriewhowasreading chapter 1 . 11/25/2014
Absolutely fabulous! I believe the characters are spot on! Let's face it, for many of us TOS fans Spock, Kirk, McCoy and the crew are more real people who we know than the average passing aqaintances through life. And this is another brilliant capture of such!
Thanks for sharing your talent!
Guest chapter 1 . 10/24/2014
ooooooooooooooh!
Bil chapter 1 . 9/10/2014
Cool story. Using music was a great way to get into Spock's thoughts. Nice work!
beege chapter 1 . 9/6/2014
Since the entire eugenics wars have now been jossed by real life I think you can get away with a 3 or 4 year difference.
Guest chapter 1 . 9/1/2014
Actually, if you read further from the "deleted scene from Elaan of Troyius" referenced in the footnote, yes, Spock won second prize in the music competition, but his father came in first. We also know from the Next Gen episode "Sarek" that the ambassador is very fond of Mozart. And according to a scene cut from the final script of Journey to Babel, Sarek was an astrophysicist before becoming an ambassador, so maybe on both the science and the music fronts, Sarek is really the bad-ass rebel in the Surak clan - married two humans, too. A bad example all around for his Vulcan son. :)
ladybrit chapter 1 . 8/30/2014
I really enjoyed these little vignettes. The final one was unexpected but made the others come together.
GrossGirl18 chapter 1 . 8/27/2014
I forgot to say that something confused me: what did you mean when you said that, strictly speaking, members of Surak's house weren't meant to be scientists? Spock was supposed to go to the Vulcan Science Academy, so I don't see how that works.
GrossGirl18 chapter 1 . 8/27/2014
Asides from a seemingly egregious use of the word egregious, this was really good. I really enjoyed this.
Heather Snow chapter 1 . 8/27/2014
I loved this look at Spock. I loved the exchange where the meaning of the word "proficient" was defined. And I really liked the exchange between Spock and Pike. I'd love to see you write something about the early days of that relationship, because you captured something interesting there.
PSW chapter 1 . 8/25/2014
That was ... fascinating. :-) Very original, I very much enjoyed it!
Book girl fan chapter 1 . 8/25/2014
He has a standing invitation to join Vulcan's best orchestra, and he says he's only proficient? Wow, Spock.
