Yes, I can understand Susan's plight. Being lauded as the most beautiful woman since Queen Swanwhite would have had an advantage (like Elizabeth the First used her suitors' attentions to help England's relations with other countries) but also would bring l6ads of suitors of all kinds. And beautiful women from all walks of life have always been sought after by men who only see a pretty face. This is one of my favorite pieces by you, because of the look into Susan's mind and how perfectly in character she is, both her and Lucy. She lives up to the title of 'Gentle' beautifully here in my opinion. And the mentions of Thalia, Solon and Peridan's twins in the maze and Tarrin are all amusing and perfect. Keep writing!

It's like you were attempting to do something frminist, but you still vastly failed. Not in this one story alone, but overall. Susan is always the perfect motherly sister in your stories. Where's the struggle? She should have issues with her ability to always be that to them. And she false so perfectly into the virgin stereotype. She might not be eager to marry, but she's a young woman! Surely she had feelings!

One day, Susan, one day, Mr. Right will come. In the meantime, you've got your family. This was a darling story, Lady A! I really appreciated how you mentioned the quality all girls should look for in a guy: that he loves you for more than just your looks. Looks can be deceiving, and beauty is a fleeting thing. Usually I don't review but I found that I had to here! I really loved this one and I totally agree with this. Susan needs someone who will see her more than just beautiful on the outside but also on the inside. She needs someone who will not be able to just look at her and decide she's perfect but someone who will see her flaws and think that it is those imperfections that make her perfect because they mean that she is real. Susan needs someone who will look at her and see the kind and gentle and loving and protective and intelligent woman that she is. She needs someone who will see that she hates to kill but will if she needs to, to defend Narnia. She needs someone who will see all those things that make her Susan.
For the record, I love the pairing Lucy/Tarrin. Thanks for posting this awesome oneshot!
