This just got to me...

Woah woah woah woah woah. This was cute and I liked it and all, but there's one pretty major problem: Who in their right mind would ever describe KAITO as something even akin to "normal human"?! There are at least a handful of crazy super-intelligent detectives out there in the world, but as far as I'm aware, there's only that one stupendously insane, borderline acting in supernatural and impossible ways, jumps off rooftops on a nightly basis and can fool even the greatest detectives magician out there in the world. Sherlock and Shinichi are birds of a feather, along with Hakuba and Hattori and maybe Sera and Mitsuhiko and a few others, all in varying degrees of human and detective (with Sherlock being the most detective and Heiji probably being the most human of them), but Kaito's something else entirely. I vaguely wonder if he could possibly even fool Sherlock with one of his magic tricks... Sherlock's made mistakes before (sugar vs. gas in The Hounds of Baskerville), so I get the feeling that if Kaito really tried and thought about it and made a few attempts, he could do it. Plus, unlike the others, the more detective-like and intelligent they get the less able to communicate with other human beings they become, but Kaito is supremely intelligent AND proficient in the arts of being charismatic and friendly. Sherlock seems to think that one has to choose only a single thing to be, either intelligent or sociable, but Kaito definitely disproves that.

Sorry, I went crazy. Anyway, cool story! I love your works (for some reason: I just about NEVER read or write romance EVER, AT ALL, but I simply adore ShinKai).*Shrugs*

kura: yaaaassssssssss. this made me so happpppyyyyyy! I was wondering why this writing style felt familiar and more importantly, how lucky I was that id find a kaishin pairing in a DC x SH fanfic. I had assumed that most people might write a shinran. this, this made me happy. and now that I found out it was you!? I love reading your kaishin stories and this, this! this was beautiful and yes, sherlock, adopt shinichi. he'd love it and you two would make a wonderful father/son pair of detectives! I also love how kaito had spoke about his and shinichi's relationship. the idea that he helps ground shinichi, brings him back to a normal reality (can I say that about the wonderful thief?) and helps him with the little things. it shows how much kaito loves shinichi and that's what I always love looking for in a kaishin fanfic XD thank you for this beautiful piece of work!
