Cocohorse chapter 4 . 8/4/2016
Love it so far! You gotta complete this please!
Xahraxs chapter 3 . 4/2/2015
One bit Gravity screwed up with is the Russian space suit. Ryan had on the launch and entry Sokol suit, no backpack. The actual suit is called the Orlon EVA suit, and unlike the NASA suit, the Orlon is a one piece. You climb in through the back and someone locks the backpack in place behind you. The suit is such a good design NASA is looking into duplicating that style for future space suit designs for Mars.

A little detail to use if you wish since the movie got that wrong.

I also could see him use the large resupply ship, ATV, seen docked at the very back of ISS with it's X shape of solar panels as temporary lifeboat. It's got a pressurized second on the very front end. Matt though would need to remove the ISS automated docking system laptops and take it with him so he can fly ATV himself since it was made to be controlled by someone on ISS to dock it. There is also a proposal now to have it with an aft docking hatch so a Soyuz can dock to it. I think the one in Gravity would have had this added.

So maybe Matt and Ryan can both get to Tiangong together. She'll be very surprised to see him alive and how he flew ATV to meet her. Line of sight comms would work so they can talk before they dock Soyuz to ATV. This is a new situation even the movie creators never considered.

Ohhh, wow. Seriously, this fic deserves MANY more views. The writing is freaking terrific. I love the changing tensions, with astonishment and joy and horror and desperation and hopelessness... it all flows nicely and works well. DEFINITELY worth the wait, and I'm glad you're making deadlines for yourself. I'm interested in seeing what comes next for Matt! Hopefully, he can get better after this, and... get a new suit, and... somehow make it home? I find it incredible that piece of debris didn't just rip right through him, though it's definitely possible that it only ripped through his backpack.

Sooo looking forward to more updates. This is probably the best Gravity fic on here, kudos.
Queen Ghidorah chapter 2 . 1/28/2015
In-TENSE. When I got to the end, I realized I'd been unwittingly clutching the front of my shirt with one hand the whole time. I think that's a good sign your action scene was a success!

Your characterization is excellent, too. With no one for him to interact with, Matt's scenes alone could have been dull and boring, but they definitely were not. It was a treat getting a look inside his head while he drifts and felt very in-character (with what we know of him, at least).

I do sincerely hope you continue this wonderful story. I can't wait to see what happens next!
Lady Vyxen chapter 2 . 1/23/2015
The tension in this chapter was almost unbearable. But the neding was perfect. It's good, htat you didn't left him still in space at the end of chapter. Especially, that it's ages since you updated. Please, finish this wonderful fic. I'm sure that there would be more people wanting to read it, especially, that Gravity doesn't have much fics, so you don't have huge competition - like I do when writing to Harry Potter.
Lady Vyxen chapter 1 . 1/23/2015
Wow! That was great outcome and youdid a research ind it's real. It very well written, very interesting and I felt like holding breath with Matt. BY the way the surname is Kowalski, because it's Polish surname and we don't have surnames that end with "y" usually, especially not this one. Which is the most popular Polish surname in the world. My boyfriend's surname is the same :)
aspiringAnimator chapter 2 . 11/27/2014
Oh, incredible :D Definitely worth the wait for the second chapter. For many moments, I thought Matt wasn't going to make it, but the writing and the push and pull of tension is seriously excellent. Already wondering what's going to happen next, since at this point the ISS is getting hit by debris, and Ryan isn't even in it, assuming we've stayed the course of the movie's plot. Looking forward to more!

I really love this. Though that's not how orbital physics would work in a situation like this, it plays out spectacularly, especially with Ryan trying to contact him while he's holding his breath. I'd love to read more! The writing is superb.
