This is an amazing story, and I think it may be one of the best crossovers I've read. I'm off to read the rest of your stories based on this one, and I know they'll be just as good.

I cried at that ending.. It was a mixture of pent up Thorin/Ainara frustration annnddd my angst at the ending of the Hobbit...

Oh what a gem. I just found your story while looking for any and all Hobbit crossovers. I'm loving what I've read so far :) im so glad that Bilbo had a friendly face in this journey and that your OC is going to contribute something unique. She's very likeable so far, usually I become annoyed very quickly with OCs but so far soooo good!

The nerd in me that sees the PJ/Richard version of thorin as a mental illness metaphor is cheering over this comment and how it acknowledges the strength of mental illness.
ugh I know what happens next but I don't want it...

I love how Gandalf is just like oops, I wash my hands of this stubborn dwarf and then leaves everything to Ainara to handle. Like man, Gandalf dont you remember you STARTED this in the first place by putting the idea in Thorin's head?
But ughhh Thorin disowning his nephews was even more painful in this than the movie version. He never said that in the movie and I think it actually made Thorin a little bit...less effected by the dragon sickness which I actually was pleased by.
And goodness the firelord imagery with her on the throne claiming power was awesome and chilling!
