I liked the story from beginning to end, but I have to say that your use of homophones is jarring. Its present in every chapter and even in the latest chapter you updated as of this post.

The biggest offenders are 'to, too' 'your, you're' 'then, than'

I can overlook this stuff as it sometimes slips through, but when I read 'to' when 'too' is the right word, it breaks immersion slightly.

ex. This is not too short.
ex. I meant to do that.

Usually, 'to' is used as a transition word in a sentence.
Next, 'too' is used to represent an excessive or an also.

the beginning seems a bit messedup as if you rewrote and left the old in.
