Eragon135790 chapter 18 . 7/19
somehow sad but great ff just hoped that she would somehow survive(maybe be revived?). i just dont like it when mc's die(without ressurection) at the end of story's(ff or not).
Eragon135790 chapter 12 . 7/19
why doesnt mc just say "i wont marry" they acnt really force her(except genjutsu maybe but that would have to be permanent and shisui would never say es to that).
Kknd2 chapter 18 . 7/18
I think it's interesting that here we have the proof that someone can simply say "I will not be involved." and then fade into the background, without changing things. The only change, the only evidence Rika ever existed at all is a man pausing a couple of times to find a wall and a broken old hair pin. On the one hand I wish the force that sent her to that life would send her back. To throw back in her face that she could have done something, and out of what is ultimately selfishness, decided not to do so. A refutation of her decision in a sense. But on the other hand, as much as 'shoot the shaggy dog' is something that offends me? You've done well with it. We knew going into this story what it was, there was no deception and we were gently reminded of it throughout. I do wish, on some level, that she hadn't burned her account of her life as Rika. But on the other hand, why would she do that kind of harm to someone? That isn't within her nature.

Yet even so, a part of me wishes that the things she'd done had led to a better outcome. The little things of bringing happiness and levity, changing fate to something less terrible. It's why I feel that this final part IS NOT optional, it's the assurance that she did no harm. Yes, she did not change much, but she made no new tragedy in the process. It ends the bitter sting of 'and how do we know this doesn't make things actively worse because butterfly effect!?' with an answer of 'Because it didn't.'

I put this on my favorites because it's a well written 61k words of story. It pulls on the emotions without lies, without tricks or deception. So many writers, especially paid professionals, lie to get that 'surprise' or 'subvert expectations' or to 'shock' people.

The 'twist' ending here is nothing of the sort, just as the old Greek tragedies are filled with moments where despite knowing better we hope the outcome we know is coming will be turned aside, we see the oncoming train the entire time clearly. We simply are attached enough to the people it is about to hit that our emotions override our reason and knowledge. We both know it will always end this way, we knew that from the very start, but it is human nature to deny that until there is no arguing with the facts. Until one closes their eyes for the last time, no matter how impossible, we hope to live on.

So this story has value as an example of how to make a trope I utterly despise, a type of story (tragedy) that I find disgusting, an undeniable work of art. For that you'll have my respect, peccolia.
Thundqh chapter 1 . 7/14
This is a lot like "Like Pinwheels in the Wind," except there's a pairing and it's not a one-shot. Made me cry nonetheless.
Sentariana chapter 18 . 7/11
Oh God. That ending. Sasuke's perspective. That really made me cry - because the thing that upsets me about death isn't necessarily death itself but the thought of the people left behind. Rika wanted to leave a lasting impression on Konoha - to not be forgotten - and she achieved that. Itachi and Sasuke, obviously, but pretty much all of Konoha must have noticed her and so remember her - what with her being such a rapscallion. I admit, I had hope that she would live - she was in a good position to what with being close to Shisui and Sasuke both. But, at the same time we can kind of imagine this as an untold part of canon because it doesn't deviate from it. Thank you for writing this!
Guest chapter 18 . 7/11
The ending tugs on the strings of my heart
Avarox chapter 18 . 7/9
I've seen some people express how they don't like the story, and I understand their reasoning. Not everyone likes to see a civilian SI/OC that does nothing to the story and is "useless" to their words, but I personally enjoy it. I've seen so many "I know the future and I will change it" fic, that it got predictable at times. It's refreshing to just see a carefree, non-ninja reincarnate that just accepted her faith. While I will admit that this is not my favourite fic, I did enjoy it. Thank you for making this fic, hope you have a great day.
guest chapter 18 . 7/6
great story. but i missed the humor a bit because of all the angst in the later chapters.
dustinpuffer chapter 18 . 7/3
I shouldn't have done that, I should have stop at the last chapter.

This was an incredible story all said, the set up, the character everything,

Thank you very much for sharing this story. (But after reading the last 3 chapters I have a tiny urge to stab you in the kidney with a rusted spoon)

NotRevan chapter 18 . 7/2
Fucking hell. I mean no offense but this was probably the dullest and most annoying completed SI fic I've ever read. Because that was probably your goal I will say that it is very well done. Now I'm gonna find something a bit more entertaining.
NotRevan chapter 14 . 7/2

NotRevan chapter 2 . 7/2
