The Naruto ending was bullcrap mostly because Naruto didn't change the shinobi system and his "child of prophecy who will bring peace" title was just for is the same system which was responsible for the destruction of clans(Uchiha,Uzumaki,Haku's clan etc), Danzo's ROOT turns little children into emotionless tools, discrimination of an enitre clan because of the actions of a few (The entire Uchiha clan was hated because of Madara,Tobi and the few elite that had the sharingan), the use of child soldiers, the making of kids into jinchuuriki without their consent, human experimentation, the "will of fire" which says a ninja should give up everything for their village even their lives, kidnapping of people with kekkei genkai, the Hyuuga slavery system and so much Hashirama wanted to create a village where kids wouldn't be used as child soldiers and the so called "villians" like Madara,Nagato/Pain (had his village used as collateral in the war), Sasuke (had his clan destroyed thanks to the konoha higher ups), Kabuto was blackmailed into becoming a ninja by Danzo, Obito (lost Rin and never knew his parents), Sasori (had his parents die on a mission), Kakuzu (was outcast because of a failed mission) saw the problems with this system and wanted to change it for the better but they were brought down and called crazy or , in the Boruto manga a kid named Kawaki is trying to change the system since Naruto is too much of a Konoha attention seeking whore to do anything which shows that even by the end of the series Naruto hasn't done anything to improve the world since Orochimaru is still continuing his experiments, kids are still being trained as ninja despite it being a time of "peace", Nagato's and weaker villages are still being exploited by the big five and we know nothing of the Bijuu, or if Naruto kept his promise to change the Hyuuga and so , in other anime/manga series like Attack on Titan, One Piece, Kill la kill, Akame gakill, Fullmetal alchemist and even authors like GRRM or books like ASOIAF put down governments like Konoha's and don't shy away from protraying evil deeds as evil and actually have their protagonists make real good changes in the world.I guess people only like this series for the ships, "relatable" characters and self projection while they ignore the other atrocities of this series like the fact that it supports genocide,slavery, human trafficking, blind nationalism etc.

XD this is so amusing and true! I hated the ending. Geez it was so...uggrghhh! I cant even! For starters, shippuden just kept getting worse and worse for me. The characters were being milked for all their worth. Their character developments was either an up and down roller coster or non exsistent. Honestly I love Naruto! It was my favorite anime! But I feel like it became less about the show being good and well thought out and more about creating more drama to make the show longer and make more money. And the ending... So cringy... I could rant on about it but to summarize, as much as I have loved Naruhina it had NO development! Zip! The whole series Naruto was oblivious to Hinatas affections and all Hinata did was faint! I get Hinatas supposed to be shy, sweet, and cute but she had chances to be developed as did the naruhinas relationship. SasuSaku-my fave ship- is ironically... Worse...It was this paring I loved the most despite the fact I didnt see it working out without a change in BOTH their characters... There are just... Sooo many problems with them... Honestly I would rather them both be alone simply because their development was more like underdevelopement; Sakura started out as a good leading female but spiraled down thanx to Kishimota not knowing how to write good leading females (not that I am hating on him like I said Naruto was and still is my fav anime regardless of its... Many flaws). My point is none of the parings had any sigificant development and the time skip just made it worse. Their kids are basically a 12 year olds copy and paste drawing and Boruto and Salads names are... Well yeah horriable. In the end Sasukes a bigger dick than before, Naruto is a bad parent, Sakura... Ugh I love her and her new design but they made her... Such a slave to her emotions and not the strong mature kunochi she should have been... All the female nin our basically housewives and have had little to zero to negativr development throughout the series... The ONLY good thing is that Hinata and Sakura are loving mothers... Despite the fact Sakura never informed Salad about the circumstances surrounding her dad... Anyways the ending of Naruto is a horriable half-assed, cringy fanfiction looking, garbage that makes no sense... I know Kishimoto worked on Naruto for such a long time but... It feels like over time his story either became tedious work he no longer put his heart in to or a way to make money... Disappointing and sad really to see my fav anime fall so hard... I personally think Naruto should have just ended with Sasuke being put on probation after spending some jail time where he can change, reflect, and DEVELOPE. Naruto should have been shown working (mentally) to learn how to become Hokage- basically smarter and more mature but still with his carefree childlike demenor just more mature and understading of the mental and politcal aspects of being a Hokage. Sakura I feel should have been wary of Sasuke and he'd have to work his way to be seen as a trusted comrade and friend but wouldnt for a Looong while. Basically everyone should have STAYED single at the end of the magna but have a slight time skip towards the end showing them older and more mature after it shows the aftermath of the war. I would rather see them as young adults in the end than older adults with kids and realtionships that make NO SENSE!...

Anyways... Sorry that was so long but... Yeah... Had to get that off my chest lol... And um... Great rationalization btw; thats how I interpreted the ending as well for the most part. Your fic was as laugable as it was enjoyable and futhermore blantly true! Glad to see someone not blinded by the horrid "fan-appeasing" ending.

YES thank you! This was short, hilarious and summed up most of my issues with the ending.

The pairings didn't really surprise me. Disappointed, but not surprised. Only one ship that should've been canon was made canon, and that was ShikaTema. The rest were just slapped together out of randomness and capitulation. Naruto and Hinata might become more reasonable with the movies, but for now...it's such an asspull: "You told me you loved me that one time and also I don't want Neji to haunt my ass...so yeah, I'll totally hook up with you!" SasuSaku? Well. Well. Both those two have masochistic tendencies so let’s just not go there. Naruto and Sakura didn't talk. No closure on that front whatsoever. So much for that whole promise of a lifetime business.

While Shippuden was 'dark and complicated', many fans were afraid it would all end in twee happy endings and overly pat conclusions to storylines, with Sasuke fully redeemed and domiciled and Naruto - essentially unchanged - finally becoming the seventh Hokage. Which, well, is exactly what they got.
