I...I think I ship them now. I was a bit skeptical over how this pairing would work but you made it work while keeping both of them wonderfully in-character. Great writing, dialogue, and character development. I love that you brought the plot all the way past DDD and it was very interesting to see how all of this changed the series' canonical storyline. I enjoyed it quite a lot!
Aoki chapter 2 . 6/21/2015
Wow this fic is amazing! I never really thought about Riku and Zexion as a ship before but you have captured both of thier personalities perfectly and made it work in a natural and believable way. I have to say my heart broke when I read the part with Zexion putting the pieces together about DiZ/Ansem. I can just imagine the little boy in him crying out because of the guilt he feels and how he misses his father.

I do hope you update soon. I need to know what happens. Though it makes me curious if Riku feels guilty for essentially being the one that got Zexion caught since he was the one that pushed him away. At least he was quick to come save the day. :)

I feel so bad now that mine was short and this was ... this was, well, wow. I'm left speechless by how amazing you wrote this based on one picture. I loved the dynamic between Riku and Zexion; it was believable and thoroughly enjoyable to read how their relationship developed over the year.

I was happily surprised that you included Zexion's powers of illusion and magic in this. I don't know why; something about it just made this so much better. Also, Riku saying that Zexion was a being of darkness and also warm at the same time? Total win. I love when Riku is a total sap towards our favorite little schemer.

What else ... I liked, in the beginning, when Riku stepped in to protect Zexion from Axel and the replica. Did the replica disappear in that battle though? That was one of the questions I wondered, but that's up to the reader to imagine, I guess. I like the replica ... even if he did terrible things to Zexion. He's just a tormented soul who wants to be real.

Oops. I got off track.

The biggest thing I liked was the remorse that Zexion felt towards hurting Riku and how Destiny Islands held bad memories for both of them. It was a beautiful analogy and I couldn't help but fall in love with it.

The ending was great too. Smooches all the way. o3o

Thank you for such a lovely story, darling. I'm going to read this quite a bit, I can tell that already. :'D
