Draco didn't do all the hard work-preparing ingredients so that Draco can make the potion right *is* hard work, and very necessary. Ron, as ever, is jealous and acting out. Won't help him much-not even the twins will have that much sympathy with him.

And I expect Harry is about to be the recipient of a number of potions, an interrogation, and possibly a lollipop, while Petunia may well soon have a visit.

Ah-but if Snape was raised by the Evans family, he wouldn't have been picked on for his poverty, nor would he have been made a target of the Marauders as much; they liked to pick on isolated victims with no one to speak for them.

But still surprised Severus never checked on Harry once he knew the boy was with Petunia.

No wonder the Headmaster didn't applaud. The Savior of the World can only be a Gryffindor, after all. Harry must not have been met by either Draco or Hagrid at any time to not realize that Slytherin is Eeeeevil.

But Severus picked up on Harry being abused right off (what a pity that McGonagall in canon never seemed to figure this out even with the Weasleys telling her about the bars on the windows. Albus must have been fairly generous with the Obliviates when you think about it).

I'm surprised that Severus didn't visit Harry and Petunia fairly often once Lily was gone.

British law is a LOT more complex than your system, I'm British and even I don't really understand most of it (that might be the whole uneducated/abused/mental defective with a rare disorder thing though) kudos for finding a way to simplify it.
