Just found this series of one-shots and they are all so very good. The first two are lighthearted and witty and I really love the way you have Danny's thoughts bounce around a bit. So in character.

This third was one so good. The show never really touched on the emotional fall-out of what Danny did or the way it might affect their relationship. They only touched on it once when Danny said that he had to live with what he did and that he felt he deserved getting thrown in a Colombian prison and beat to a bloody pulp. I like how you have them address the issue but don't have an easy answers because there are none. Steve's right, he just has to learn to live with it.

I wish you'd do more of these. They're really good.

I absolutely love your first two chapters and this one was great as well, but in a different way. I agree that they need to address this situation better in the show, and I believe that they'll get around to it eventually, but I also agree that it has got to be hard to write and no one quite knows what to do. I like how you handled it though. Believable. Certainly a less fun chapter of Steve being out of his communication depth, but an accurate step forward for him in the feelings dept. as well.

I also got the biggest story idea right after reading this. Pretty much the first thing I've thought I could actually write and might actually do it. So, thanks so much for the inspiration! Although, my idea turned incredibly tragic incredibly fast, but I don't think you can be blamed for that.

I love the little snippets that you add to the characters with these well-written scenes and I hope to see more of them :)

Wow, these three one shots were really great. I wish the writers would take a couple a pages from some of the fanfics here and incorporate those feelings and ideas into the show. Your three fics, though separate, really brought a lot more depth and feeling to Danny and Steve than they do have now. I feel like sometimes, the show just skirts the very edge around the depth and the wholeheartedness of it all. Meanwhile you gathered it all up in fistfuls and dove off that cliff headfirst.
I fanfic had a star rating, I would give you all five, plus two thumbs up.

I really like their friendship. It's comforting.

Now that Danny's had some time, I think he's going to hold on even tighter to his family and be more protective. Poor Grace. I doubt a boyfriend is anywhere in her near future.

I really like these moments between Steve and Danny, they work well and are true to the characters. Danny doing what he did was a big deal, I wish I trusted the show to address it adequately but I doubt they will.

Nice job. This sounds a lot like what Steve would try to say to Danny. I would expect that the guilt will hang around Danny for a long time regarding this incident...
