I have never been more satisfied with ANY fan fiction, including ones from other fandoms. The emotions were so real (omg Gajeel crumbling like a wall had me sobbing in my bed, I couldn't see the screen through my tears), the plot was fluid, and if I wasn't a fan of the twin paradox, I sure am now. And the subject was handled so nicely, and I am forever grateful that you did not have Gajeel and Levy sugarcoat what happened. Tbh, I had no interest in reading the other renditions of the kids finding out what happened, because it was always "oh your father was bad but its okay yay sunshine". But you, you made this real, and well-handeled and just, thank you so much for this. This right here is what I, and everyone else, needed. So again, thank you.

I agree with you about the stories that just don't get the finding out part right. They take the kids' emotions lightly, as if they wouldn't care less about how their parents met. And they do care. A lot.

I feel like your story truly integrated all the points of view of Levy and Gajeel's not-so-pleasant meeting. Before reading it, I figured it would be deep, since it's written by you and your fics are pure genius, but I didn't expect a story deeper than the Mariana Trench. And the 'you'd be surprised what you'd do for some food' remark really struck a chord for me. Too beautiful.

It's so perfect i'm at a loss of words, you just found the most human, realistic and emotionnal way to deal with the "kid find out about how his parents met" story.
The thing i love most is that you dealt with everyone's feelings, and it's a very difficult thing to do because, this kind of situation isn't simple, but still, you gave a part to Juvia, Lily, you gave us some hints about what Metallicana, Jet, Droy, Makarov and the rest of the guild...
I don't think i could remember a story where all the possible protagonists are involved in the situation, and you just offered us all the complexity, all the emotions that this moment can create in everyone.
I really needed to review your story, even if i don't really know how to explain my feelings very well (being french doesn't help ! sorry if i'm confusing), because you wrote what i think is the most heartbreaking/bittersweet, overwhelming story about someone finding out about the gajevy's past.

First of all: thank you so much, i'm honestly overwhelmed, i'm so so so glad we got to know each other better this year, this is an amazing gift, i'm so touch and just ugghhhh thank you! you have 100% covered my need for gajevy/tps family comfort and ughgh it hurts sooo good

Secondly, thirdly, fourthly etc: do you remember when you let me read the first draft ages ago and i was a complete and utter mess? well imagine that tenfold. I agree with you 100% in the sense that a lot of fics short-change the kids and their possible reactions and i just want to hug you for daring to give Rogue a real emotionally charged, believable reaction. It wasn't all sunshine and daisies, it didn't end with a perfect resolution, there's still things they're going to need to work through as a family but above all, there is unconditional love in their family and it really warms my heart that you so firmly put that in the fic. Definitely the most believable reaction and subsequent dealing of the reaction that i've read and definitely my favourite. I think my favourite passage is Levy's little "None of this happened over the course of a day for us - it all happened in steps, some tiny and some much, much bigger." speech because YES. I've always said you're one of my favourite gajevy writers because you just get it. It wasn't an overnight spark for them, it took building and a lot of earning and I just love how you've wound that in with this piece.

Metalicana's - sort of - cameo broke me. I wasn't expecting it, nope not at all. knowing that Rogue has a relationship with him just made me go awww and then i was hit with images of Metalicana finding out about Gajeel's past with Phantom and blaming him self to an extent for leaving him OH and can we talk about that "You'd be surprised what you'd do for some food." line because owwwwww my heart, the little tidbit about Gajeel's reasoning for joining and how it Phantom wasn't always bad really got to me.

As always, your characterisation is top tier. Levy's reaction, Gajeel's, Juvia's, Lily's, Rogue's...everyone was spot on and it just made me smile (through my tears) because your talent at writing and fleshing out characters just shone through. Gajeel as a father is one of my many weaknesses and again you've just got him down to a T.
