I came to know this fic through RavenShira, Dinner Date. I was a bit worried what I’d find here since they tend to lean more to that pairing that I don’t like. (Even though she also ships my absolute fav) I don’t regret coming to know this wonderful story which gave me the fluffy feelings I need to get through the day.

Okiya's still around, yay! Although Conan's lied himself into a corner now, regarding Kaito being Shinichi. And I loved that little bit about Kaito declaring his love for detectives when Hakuba was able to deduce that he was still hungry.

Ouch, Hakuba. Now balancing this one is tough, I think. He's so much stricter and inflexible than Conan/Shinichi, but he's also young enough not to be too hardened. And Kaito is a friend, in a way. While for Conan, it probably didn't require any wrestling with his conscience to let the KID off the hook this time around, it'll be pretty hard for Hakuba to look the other way once the danger is past unless something enters the equation. I like what you've done so far with Hakuba though.

You know that feeling when, after trawling through tens of stories on FF (eww, terrible writing; yuck, character bashing; non-canon pairings and slash-no thanks; wish fulfillment fantasies, nuh-uh; oh no, incomprehensibly out of character motivations, and so on so forth), it's such an incredible feeling to stumble across something that is *just right*. Thank you for writing this! You'd be surprised how hard it is to find a story that simply reads right ... where you're not distracted by strange fanfiction syntax conventions and poor writing and are just eased directly into the story with the natural-sounding writing. And after that, of course, comes the characters and their motivations. I love the way Conan and KID can be competitive in their rivalry, and yet feel no hesitation in joining hands to do the right thing when necessary. I've seen other great Conan-KID fics, but sometimes I feel like the degree of suspicion or the lack thereof goes too far on either extreme. I like your balance, and found Conan's wondering thought about what KID actually thought about him really hit the mail on the head (imho). This fic will likely focus on the four teens, but I hope Okiya will stick around. He's not an omniscient character like papa Kudo, but definitely fits in at around the boys' level. Finally, I must say that drawing Conan and KID together by having Snake take aim on an innocent bystander to bait the slippery KID is so absolutely logical and fits so well into the canon-verse that I'm surprised this plot point hasn't been done it.
