Ha ha! This was great, and so funny! Tfear better watch himself, Darandal can be very sadistic indeed!
Hawki chapter 1 . 2/14/2015
-“ T for swearing and implied offscreen drunk sex (not involving Durandal, don't worry).”

Um…I wasn’t worried…least not until…

This fandom is WEIRD. 0_0

-Huh. I see Durandal is a fan of the ‘Paranormal Activity’ series.

Snark aside, it does come off as machine-like, using temperature as the meme to convey it.

-“Crayons,” he said. “It’s spitting out fucking crayons instead of bullets?”

And I see that the s’pht are fans of ‘Red vs. Blue.’

And I suppose it would also be remiss of me not to make a “tea, earl grey” joke, if only because it might warm Mark up.

-Anyway, interest of something more constructive, dialogue’s good, setting’s good, etc., but that’s kind of a given with your ‘Marathon’ stories, so um, yeah.

-So, the bhorbh…well, kudos for generating a name that doesn’t end in “ian” or “on,” or “an.” Secondly, I like their physiology. Beak, tentacles, I can fill in the rest. Thirdly, stuff about their writing/lack of it is good, and is presented appropriately. Hands off for creativity – it’s not the first time I’ve seen this idea produced in sci-fi, but it’s not a common one either, so again, kudos. And…

…wait a minute. You mentioned sex. There are tentacles. Oh God…

-Ending…kind of peters out, to be honest. The married thing took me out of it, since you utilized a similar plot device in another oneshot, with Durandal and the cyborg being married by the s’pht. And on that subject, married after a drunken stupor…it’s not a trope I’m unfamiliar with, to say the least. Come to think of it, I don't think this is the first time you've used ship temperature as a plot device.

That said, oneshot’s still good. You can feel free to cast the ending comments aside, as if not for the other fic mentioned, and the high quality I’m used to when reading these, the moment would have far more impact. Not the first time I've mentioned this, but when you've set the standard for 'Marathon' fanfic, it's easier to notice blips in the standard rather than the standard itself. But decent little ficlet all the same.
