This is so bittersweet. You capture Luke's turmoil perfectly. Honestly I kind of don't see too much similarity between Luke and Anakin aside from the fact that they both have similar talents, maybe it's because Anakin's negative aspects stuck out and in a sense he had to deal with some ostracism within the order as well as being manipulated by the Sith, whereas Luke didn't have grudges but to deal with the burden of who his father was and to find good in him is something to be admired, of course before all that he had to think and be sure and accept the fact that his father was evil or done evil despite having good and that must have been hard, as well as looking in yourself and think how foolish I was back then. Very bittersweet indeed.

Lovely introspective piece on Luke...he held the weight of the galaxy on his shoulders at the end of Return of the Jedi...

What a powerful oneshot, capturing his thoughts realistically on the brink of the single most important step he's ever taken. He looks so lost in that scene, and so melancholy, and these are the perfect emotions and thoughts to put into his head.

Excellent! I wish that this included Leia's viewpoint once she knows the truth about Luke and Vader... This vignette does a great job in showing the thoughts and memories that Luke had on his mind before going to meet Vader. I liked seeing his realization that Owen, Beru, Obi-Wan and Bail were determined to protect him and Leia by hiding the truth about their father. Many thanks for posting this! :)

I am glad that you wrote this. In a night such as this, what was he thinking of, and how did he come up with the decision to go to his father? You filled a void I had after watching the movie.
