Liked the closure, it's nice to imagine that's how it ended. Loved the story, great writing.

There is so much about this story to love. The characters are in character, the pacing is perfect, and the ending is optimistic but believable. This is the kind of not unhappy ending fans were hoping to get in the show for Dexter.

Great story! Loved the idea of Dexter still being able to dispense vigilante justice without killing, btw!

I loved the conclusion to your Debster fic. The happy ending but the obvious slipping back into the dark habits you created is AWESOME and very realistic they are not perfect even though they do belong together.I look forward to your next fic Brianna you depict Dexter and Debra just like i imagine them if the show runner's didn't fuck up so badly.I definitely look forward to your next Debster project.

So we finally reached the end it was great i liked that you gave them an good ending but you also left it open ended in which Dexter might slip and kill again and Deb may be the one to push that folder in front of him to kill again. No matter how much she wants to be happy she does have a dark side.I look forward to your next fic count me in :)...anyway to fix the ending to season 8 I'm all for it. See ya next time Briana!

I think you are really hitting your stride with your dialogue and your characterization. You do things that surprise me like that scene with Quinn kissing Deb in Chapter 5 which made me wonder if you were going to go in an unpleasant direction with that after Dexter ‘died’. And you surprised me again with Elway popping up out of nowhere – I thought, well, this is going to be a problem, this photographer is going to have pictures of Hannah at the hotel and later Deb coming out of her room: “hey Deb, isn’t that you?” But I guess you just wanted to include a scene showing how Deb got fired from Elway’s employment and ended up back at Miami Metro. You resolved the Quinn storyline very well. I’m glad that you included the scene with Masuka catching them in a compromised situation – cornered, as it were – perfect. I also like the way you don’t neglect Harrison as a critical element in their relationship. As you wrote, Harrison isn’t her son but he might as well be. You’ve got Deb’s voice down really well, are gaining confidence with Dexter all the time, and while Vogel has been a challenge for you in my view it’s starting to sound more like her. Overall, this ended up being a really nice story, and I’m glad you left them with “hope at the end.” I’ve read some stories that were appropriately tragic, but I don’t think Dexter and Deb have to be.

Regarding my story idea, it actually intrigued me enough that I’m writing it out – not as fanfiction, but just for my own enjoyment. If you end up using any of that, I’ll be curious to see how we differed.

Briana, your adept handling of the hospital scene makes me think of "Argentina" and your desire to improve that episode. What if the story were to diverge from canon at the point where Deb is in the hospital - this time with more serious injuries than depicted in the show, and she takes a turn for the worse but not before she has told Dexter that Hannah poisoned her. Dexter thinks his sister is going to die and realizes that Hannah might have killed her. It would really be satisfying from this Debster fan's point of view for an enraged Dexter to put Hannah on his table for real this time, hating Hannah for what she has done but also himself for putting Deb in danger. Plus, it would be satisfying for Dexter to really let his emotions go at Deb's bedside, thinking she is going to die and knowing he turned away from her when she revealed how much she loves him in "Argentina". Deb has given everything to love and protect him and now she may die because of him. Now that is some serious angst. Just a thought.

I was so glad when i found that you updated so soon. I know you said that next chapter is going to be your last and if it's not don't be frustrated your muse just has a little more to say on our favorite Morgan siblings and if it is either way i enjoyed your fic immensely. :)

I really felt for Deb when she thought Dexter was dead you could feel her anguish coming off the screen you wrote that scene very well.I was laughing when Deb pushed Vogel on her ass. Sometimes Vogel gets on my nerves being so fucking rational all the time i mean she raised a monster that killed her good son. She did good though with her cover story to Angel. As always i loved the Debster moments and i'm glad Dex is okay :)...Alright i'm going to wrap this up now, LOL.

I apologize for doubting you. This is a great chapter that addressed all of the things I was concerned about. Thanks for keeping Quinn out of it and using Vogel in a satisfying way. And for having more great Dex/Deb moments against all odds. I only have time to read it quickly right now and will read more carefully tomorrow but I wanted to let you know how pleased you've made this Debster fan.
